Today Was Whack
So today, my mom and I decided it would be nice of me to run errands. I called Sarah and asked if she wanted to come and that I'd pick her up in 10 mins. And she was like "faq!" so we decided I would pick her up at 12:45. It was a nice day, clear and sunny. I had my sunglasses on, windows down while blasting "Martian Girl from Plant V" by the Aquabats. The guy at the gas station was like "...yeah." Then went to Walgreens. I saw two hot guys on the way out of the parking lot, and one of them made a pick-up style handmotion to me. But then I saw that they were smoking and I was like "not cool."
Then I picked up Sarah. And what do you know! Right around the block of her apartment, yet another random guy started talking to us. Do you see repitition? I sure do. Then we went to Fred Meyer's and picked up Mambas and knitting needles and other necessities. In the parking lot, there was a girl who was "sun-tanning" with her sweater on and jeans on top of her car. So we decided to have an argument besides her. We blasted the Aquabat's "Martian Girl" and argued over Mambas. She didn't seem to pay attention. Ha. On the way back, we saw Uncle Sam at a corner gas station. So we stopped and gave him some Mambas and Sarah hi-fived him. On the way out from the gas station, I saw a chick on the corner wearing a sweater and I was like "dude, it's hot out! why is she wearing a sweater?" *beat* "Dude, it's a man!" exclaimed Sarah. And indeed it was. Then we went to Wendy's and got frosties. Afterwards, dropped various gifty-box things at Goodwill. Sarah commented on how our life was like a movie because of the songs I was playing ("Run" by Snow Patrol and "Everlong (Acoustic)" by the Foo Fighters.) And I was like "dude, we are in a movie, remember?" We also talked about how today Portland was like California without the Californians...which was really nice.
We came back home and dropped off the groceries. Then we decided to play DDR, but Rin and Peter have my DDR pads. So we took the cat (Bombchu) and went to our highschool to pick up Sarah's pad. But we needed another! So we called around, and Rin was in Washington DC, didn't want to travel all the way to Christian's, didn't want to deal with LO for Saiyuki, etc. Anyhow, we decided to go to Mai's. Tomodachi was also there, too. Which was awesome. So we went. Mai's little siblings freaked out my cat. Her cat, Atomic, was like "no." Then I asked them if they'd (Tomodachi and Mai and Atomic) like to go drive around the block with us, so they agreed. We blasted 94.7...well...because it was playing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana. There was this group of kids and we decided to hang. We stopped in front of their posse and told them we were from Wisconsin and wanted to know where Hollywood Video was. They tried to explain, but of course, we weren't listening because we already knew where it was. So then we left, and drove around the block 3 more times after letting off Atomic at Mai's house, who was not enjoying the ride. Once again, we turned up the volume on "Martian Girl" and they looked at us like we were your mom. Then Mai wanted to ask them a question. I forgot what. But then they recognized her, and (as Sarah says, "the jig was UP") were like "hey! we know you! you went to our school!" Good job, Mai. Then we went home and now we're gonna play DDR.
I Hate I don't know why. All I can do is blame Prednisone because that's probably what it is.
The first orchestra rehearsal in the pit with the cast singing was jawesome. A lot of work, of course, to prepare. But during it was quite smooth. Ah...cute trumpet player <3
Currently, I am burning those damn valentine cds I'm supposed to send. Now my cat is walking towards me and watching me type on the laptop.
I got in trouble with my parents yesterday because I lost the keys to our hizouse. I found them today in my jacket pocket T.T Good stuff. So now they're not upset anymore. But we got my grades from last semester today. For some reason, the school didn't send them, so Mom called and asked them to >< I have a B- in CMS (pretty good for a failed project and 0 service hours) and a missing grade in Biology. I dunno, it's blank. It's supposed to be a B+/A-. Oh well, what does it matter.
My cat is still watching me, so I shall pet her *pets her cat*
Yay for psychology 4th block. We rock. Now everything's making us think of psych terms. For example, someone was talking about their cross country coach who said "don't step in the grass, or else they'll kick you out!" And I was like "is that negative reinforcement or punishment?" Ooooh...I guess you wouldn't really get it unless you were 1) a SMA senior or 2) taking psych classes. Which is just me and Sarah I guess.
Yay for Prednisone "Is it hubris to believe we all live epics?" (55.)
Now in Contemporary Lit, we're reading Peace like a River by Leif Enger. It's certainly good, but I think I like the Secret Life of Bees better for some reason. But this book is certainly different from other ones I've read. I dunno, something I feel about the way that it approaches and uses the first person narrative. Or something.
I just finished typing up my psychology Operant Conditioning Exercise project/paper thing. It wasn't that hard since it was only a page. I hope it only had to be a page. Mew. Ben turned wizard last night <3 I got my last 5% to job 49 this morning. Now I want to lvl >>
The school assembly today was whack. Sorry, but I got tired of the sumo wrestling. It just needed to stop. Shyeah. I had "Blitzkrieg Pop" by the Ramones stuck in my head the whole day because of it. Blah. Rehearsal was a tad bit dandier. Sai and I actually got to sit down this time. One of the actor's said "we don't have time for this" when Rich asked them to stop and correct something in the music. It made me kinda mad because I feel like Fate can only say that since he's the director. It was like he was belittling Rich, and I was screaming "fuck you" in my head. But we actually got to watch the whole thing, which was cool. Voting was awesome.
Damn, I still have "Blitzkrieg Pop" stuck in my head. I don't even like this song.
I got in trouble with my parents today because I lost my housekeys T.T I guess it does merit anger, but I just wish they would bloody sympathize once in awhile. I just hope that the keys are sitting somewhere in school.
I'm thinking I should make a new blog layout soon, but this one is so neat and Ben's drawing ish so kyooooot ><
I Have a Headache "Standing there, I loved myself and I hated myself. That's what the black Mary did to me, made me feel my glory and my shame at the same time" (P 71.)
Ah yes, The Secret Life of Bees by Susan Monk Kidd. The first book read in the Contemporary Fiction class (yes, the one that some friends and I started back in April (wow, I was really annoyed with Mai that month. Anyhow, she's taking the class hehe =P) Anyhow, it's so cool. Our teacher chooses the first 3 books we read, then the class chooses the next 3. There's book discussions everyday and a lot of journaling. We do a lot of the stuff that are parallel in the book. On Monday, we had a "will you bee my Valentine?" party where we ate pop with peanuts (except I couldn't because I'm allergic to nuts ><) and ate stuff with honey. There's a character in the book, May, who wrote each of her problems on a piece of paper and stuck them in a wall in their backyard. So yesterday, we each wrote a problem on a piece of paper and stuck them in the parking lot wall. I love this class.
Been really busy lately. Especially tonight. I have a bunch of stuff I have to do for Contemporary Fiction, a "rough draft" paper for AP English, and a re-done calendar for the musical's orchestra. >< Oh yes, and those damn ads. I have to sell at least $100 because I'm a thespian. Argh.
Shyeah, I'm Back Okay, yeah. I'm back from Encounter. I'll probably blog it in my xanga because of some people *coughellenmaccough* who haven't been to Encounter yet.
Went dress shopping yesterday for the Rose Festival thing. Between a simple off the shoulder black dress and a gold/yellow beaded halter. Hmmm. Sarah called and asked stuff and complained that I didn't talk about her enough in my blog.
So shyeah, Sarah. Let me try to remember if I have any "bad advice from Sarah" stories. I can't think of any off the top of my head. Oh wait, yes. Each time she's around, I/we get hit on by weird guys. Example: I picked her up one day to go to the mall. I stopped at a crosswalk and there's this guy walking across it. He waves and says something. I thought he was waving because he thought I was gonna hit him. Apparently not, because he stopped at the sidewalk and was saying something. So I rolled down the window and he asked if I wanted to go to a party this weekend -_-;; I said I had to study. Haha. Then I drove away. Good job Sarah.
So, I went home sick again. It sucks. I slept from about 10 until 2:45. Wahoo. Yay for sleep. My sleeping habits are whack now. Great. I gotta do homework.
Haha The leaders for the Junior Encounter are leaving after school today. Wahoo. I stayed up until 1:45 am doing stuff for it. Blah. Crazy. My theme is Felix the Cat because it's awesome. Anyhow, I wanted to lvl in RO because I only have 5% in job and base >< Sad sad sad.
The psychology test was fun. Shyeah. Anyhow, I'm supposed to be researching the Zoot Suit Riots and racial profiling. But, I haven't blogged in awhile.
Ben drew a really cute picture for the blog. Whee. Thank you, Ben! <3
So shyeah, I'm here. Ummmm. Went to parteh Tuesday night for Mai's french exchange student with Ben. It was hott. Right. Ping pong, food, spoons, an attempt to play hide and seek in the dark, dodgeball, etc. I met two of Butto's friends from Central. I forgot their names. Afro man and that red haired guy that kept on saying "Jade" in this grumbly voice. It made me somewhat annoyed so I threatened him with a cheese grater. He hid in the phonebooth that they have in the kitchen. The only seniors were comrade SARS and Hannah. It was exciting.
And there was open mic night on Saturday. I thankfully remembered why there are no boys at SMA.
I thought I'd be finished with all my scarves by now. Ha. Right. "Lovesong" by 311 is stuck in my head. No, not the Cure version.
Man, I feel crappy. Maybe it's cuz I didn't get that much sleep. Yarr. Cam is taking the "what gay childhood icon are you?" quiz for her LJ. Brittany is watching music videos, as is Ira (forgot her real name ><) Everyone else seems intent on working on their paper. Well, not intent.
I was going to knit hats for my mom's friend's shower for her baby. But I forgot >< I only got to knit one. Hehe. Maybe I can do more during Encounter. Right.
Puku? So, the Junior Encounter meeting today was interesting. Dr. Sheila said some pretty interesting things. "I believe God must be a man because what woman would give us the pain of childbirth while men get an orgasm?" There's another one..."God cannot be analyzed, described or explain, and yet is simple enough for a baby to grasp." It makes me think of Freud's description of religion as a crutch. How man leans on it, and man will never be mature because it babies itself under a god. I remember Dr. Sheila explaining that there's a time in a believer's life when that image of God as a parent figure that does all good and gives good things such as life, friends, family, etc. Then something happens and the believer falls into a phase of doubt- and epiphany. And painfully, the belief is built that God is not a puppetteer. He does not "will" things, whether we like it or not. Anyhow, I actually agreed.
So, shyeah. During lunch there was a Rose Festival meeting. Only 3 out of 6 students showed up >< 2 were sick and we didn't know where the other was. I have to re-lengthen my speech for 3 minutes. Good stuff.
I saw Catheryn (sp?) N. in the stairwell today. I really wanted her to at least get into the SMA court because she is one of the nicest, most fun person I have to ever met. She doesn't make prejudices, and she's not afraid to talk to someone who no one else really talks to. Next to Natalie, I admire Catheryn (sp?) the most out of all my peers.
Anyhow, she told me that people were like "whoa! Jade's doing Rose Festival? That's awesome!" because a lot of people didn't know I was running. Hehehe. Shyeah, Sarah didn't even know got into the top 6 either. That's what she gets for not reading my blog. But Catheryn (sp?) said she was so happy that I was on the court and that she's totally supporting me. Omg, I love her. I wanted to tell her the same thing...but I didn't know what to say because she didn't get into court. I wanted to tell her all the things I said in the previous paragraph, but I didn't know if it would hurt her because she didn't get in. Puku.
BOOYAH GRANDMA! OMG! I got in the top 6. I saw the director holding the list and I saw a 4 letter first name and a last name that started with O and I was like "holy shiznaaaaat!" AND SURE ENOUGH I GOT IN >< Omg this is wicked shiznal fja lfadjfaljawesome! We (the 15 girls) bonded pretty well though, so it was cool.
Yarr Sitting with the girls who are trying out for the Rose Festival Ambassadors. There are 15 girls and only 6 will be chosen >< I'm a bit nervous. Just ate some salad and fruit. Yeah. It's kinda cold. We might be here until around 10:30. Really really really nervous.
Oh my, the main volunteer just entered. (stops typing to listen.) Nevermind, she just left for some reason. Soo...shyeah.
I got really angry last night. Sorry to whoever I burst out on. Haha, Sai, the Juniors were like "do you hate Stephanie? are you angry at her?" (she's back, pauses to listen...(we just went out and introduced ourselves x_X)) Anyhow, so sorry about that. Mom and I went shopping for something to wear to night, and all I wanted was a blue/green/white blouse. But mom wanted to look at other outfits even though I knew they would fail me because I don't really like the current styles. But yeah, I skipped the guild event, too, and I feel somewhat guilty. But I was just really frustrated last night.
Interviews and stuff have already started. I'm 3rd to last T.T Wish me good luck <3

"(I Hate) Everything About You" by Three Days Grace
No, I don't know whom or what that haiku is for/written about. It just came up in my mind today. Semi was fun. Wahoo. Who is the genius that requested the electric slide? Yeah. Me. Oh shyeah. Next day, had lunch with Bronwen while hers had lunch with mine. Yay for dim-sum. Then we walked in the Chinese Garden and had lychee tea and mooncakes. It was quite nice. Then I taught her how to knit while I tried to knit her a cap. The cap didn't turn out because I used the wrong pattern on the wrong yarn. I knit George a scarf this morning (only because I have 6/7 classes with her.) It's a cool pattern, and I'm pretty sure she likes it. Ack- Junior Encounter. Ack- Rose Festival. Ack- CMS. Ack Ack Ack. What was that thing that Sylvia Plath did in her poem "Daddy?" Ack Ack Auch Auch. It showed her frustration with German and her father who she associated blah blah blah iamdone.
Thank You for the Layout, Alden
However, is there something that's supposed to be in that blank space above? ^^;; It's quite blankly orange up there. I also disagreed with the link color because you can't really tell they're links. =P And white is a hideously bright color for this layout.
Yesterday, Saiyuki, Madeline and I were copying music in the teacher's copying machine after school/finals. Well, the teachers were all like "what are you doing here? who gave you permission to be here?" So we told them that Pat gave us permission and then one of the office ladies kicked us out, so we were like "oh shit, how are we gonna get these music books copied?" We couldn't rent more because it's $30 for two months per book. We had 12 books to copy >< So the office took on the job, and Fate was disappointed in me. Hehe. 2nd time around for this musical. Anyhow, so now we have to get something for the office as a thank you. Wahoo.
We went to Pizzicato for dinner/lunch. That was eventful. Saiyuki snuck in a burrito, the rascal. Ummm. Yeah.
Today, I had the Biology final, which was alright. Then I had the Government final which was sad because I didn't study the articles of the Constitution so I was screwed on about 8 questions. Hahaha...no. After school, I held the mouse I'm adopting from the SRM class. She's quite cute. She also went #2 on my hand. Good job. I knew it was coming by the way she was sitting still. Yeahno. Anyhow, then I kicked it with my CMS service group and talked about our complete and utter failure at the Cans Film Festival fundraiser thing. Yeah. CMS shouldn't have a grade. It just shouldn't. Only because I have 0 out of school service hours. Hahahahahaha. I'm gonna go insane.
I am eating Starbursts.
I am also procrastinating on my theology paper. Wahoo.

"Captain Hampton" by the Aquabats
