Our café, In Season, is a combination dessert café and dessert teaching school. Our main strategy is to create a saccharine environment which is full of love. We hope to bring warmth to our customers and let them know how to ‘make’ happiness. In this way, we don’t intend to be just a café, but also a school teaching expert desserts.

 

It is the purpose of this business plan to lay the foundations of the café’s vision, philosophy and strategy to our principal investors and to align the various elements to create a coherent system of sustainable customer satisfaction and profits.

 

Location

In Season is conveniently located at the crowded Mongkok near to the MTR station. The street is limited for pedestrians at dusk and holidays. There are numerous shops include toy shop, clothes shop, electrical appliance shop and drink shop. They are famous and the district is always full of people. People go shopping and do buying here and have something to eat or drink. We can provide them a nice place to enjoy their life and there are no other particular café can do.

 In Season is a cafe of premium food and drinks in Mongkok. It was established in Hong Kong on 1st August, 2003. It is held and managed by six owners.

Company Ownership

 In Season is a privately financed corporation. There are six owners. Alisa Hui owns 16.67%, Kitty Lai owns 16.67%, Yuki Chan owns 16.67%, Aman Wong owns 16.67%, Sandra Lok owns 16.66%, Alice Tsui owns16.66%, owns totally will be 100%. In Season is a general partnership for all owners. The cafe operates under the jurisdiction of all owners.

Start-up Summary

 Our incorporation costs are listed below, as well as the cost of retaining a marketing consultant to manage local impact-management terms and to issue a community impact report to major public and private agencies with the region. Their job will be to inform In Season’s owners about how to effectively communicate with the community leaders. Our lawyer will be responsible for preempting any local government conflicts having to do with district and permit allowance.

The company will start with three month’s inventory on-hand. The majority of company assets will reside in inventory, the starting balance will be $100,000.

 

The purpose of this business plan is to secure a $500,000 bank loan. The loan appears in the long- term liability row attached Start-Up Table.

There will be other normal business costs such as a 1,000,000 liability umbrella, rent, interior design costs, and opening day promotions.

 

The largest equipment purchase will be that of a Cindy brand commercial espresso machine. The machines of espresso machines are world renowned for their high quality and performance features. The machine will push steam through the espresso grounds at temperature set by the user.

Company Locations and Facilities

The cafe is located in Mongkok. It is about 2000 square feet and has ample space for the first three years of growth. In Season has a party facilities, it can give a place for celebrations. It can also let customer to sing.

Products

In Season provides its patrons the delicious and special food and drinks. Dessert is the big maker for In Season. In addition, In Season held some course to teach customer to make desserts.

Product Description

In Season sells a lot of types of food and drinks.

To cite some examples, we sell Pasta (e.g.  ST. Louis Blues Pasta, Pasta with Fresh salsa), Salad (e.g. Pacific Garden Salad, B.L.T. & C. Salad), Sandwich(e.g. All-American Grilled Cheese, Pizza Hero Sandwich), Dessert(e.g. Orange Upside-Down Cheesecake, Pink grapefruit Surbet, Tiramisu),Drink(Cappuccino, punch, Peach Ice Tea, milk shake). We also provide ‘Season dessert/drink’. It will be sold in a particular season only.

Competition Comparison

 In Season considers itself to be a player in the retail café industry. However, it knows that competition for its products range from desserts to drinks.

 

In Season’s primary competition will come from 4 sources:

1.     Famous coffee shop such as Delifrance and Pokka Café

2.     Locally owned and operated

3.     Fast food shop

4.     Convenience stores

 

What will make In Season standout from all its competitors are the following things:

1.         Our café can give a comfortable place to all customers and sells high-quality food and service to customers.

2.         We use fresh ingredient to make food.

3.         We provide the place for parties.

4.         At festivals, In Season will hold celebration to join happiness.

5.         We also hold some course to teach customer who are interested in our dessert.

 

Sourcing

 In Season purchases all ingredients from Y.M.T. Company Ltd.

Y.M.T. Company Ltd. will be our ingredient supplier. They import the Espresso beans from Europe and different ingredient from different specific places.

Technology

 We use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access to provide our business plan and menu, bookkeeping, financial accounts and Membership database.

We have built up a website by FrontPage. We upload our café’s meal and other information (e.g. course information, course application forms, booking submissions, information of festival parties etc.)

Future Products
