38th Hong Kong Boys' Brigade (also called "BB38")

The Boys'Brigade is the world's first youth uniform organisation. It spreads over 50 countries and have over 5 million members. At 1883, William Alexander Smith founded BB in Glagsow. The goal is to attract active young people through military training, so as to train them to be christian leaders.

"The Boys' Brigade, Hong Kong" ,which founded in 1958, implemented the BB concept in Hong Kong. Till now, there are over 200 companies and over 5000 members which belong to different churchs, youth centres and schools in different distrincts.

Our company was founded in 1985 by Shatin Methodist Church. We have gathering from2:30pm to 5:15pm every Satuarday in Shatin Methodist Collage. All members must wear tidy uniform. Normally gathering consists of fellowship, drill and professional skill training such as camping, first aid and sports; every training will have badge awarded to qualifed members. Members with good performance will be appointed to be NCO(Non-Commissioned Officer) , and receive NCO leader training.

We welcome boys and girls who are over 8 years old to apply to be members. If you are christian over 18 years old (Male or Female), and would like to devote your life to train young people, you are recommended to apply to be one of us.

Way to arrive: 1.Go by KMB bus no. 282 at the bus station of Shatin new town plaza 2. Go by KMB bus no. 81M at Kowloon Tong MTR station 3.Go by Ma On Shun Railway to CHe Hung Temple Station and walk about 10-15min See map

Structure: We have a chaplain and a captain. Besides, we have 2 lieutenants and 4 warrant officers. Moreover, we have 5 NCOs. Currently, our company have 12 company section members and 12 junior section members, which consist of both boys and girls.     Language Used: Mostly Chinese (Speaking in Cantonese)

Annual Important Events:* 1.) Annual Parade at Founder's day on last Sunday of October 2.) Annual Enrollment Service in March or April We have an annual enrolment service at which boys make promises and receive membership cards. At this very important service we also issue promotions and awards. *all members must attend.
