Genetically Modified Products
(¤@) Artificial selection and breeding
(¤G) Cloning techniques
In the process of cloning of living thing, the first step is to prepare a special cell. This special cell is prepared by removing the nucleus of the egg cell. Then, insert the diploid nucleus of a mature cell into this egg cell and return the egg cell to glassware for cultivation. This can restore the embryonic nature of the egg cell. When it is mature to a certain stage, this egg cell can be returned to the uterus of the animal for further development.
The first animal produced by this cloning techique is the sheep, Doly. There were some other successful cases thereafter. But the cloning of human is protected by morale and laws. In U.S., cloning of human and cultivation of fertilized eggs are prohibited.

But the genetic modified products also arouses worries among people. Somebody would like to have control on the propagation of the products. The following is adopted from the Scientific American, December 2008, Volume 299 Number 6, page 10.
