基督：基督教徒對耶穌的尊稱。為英語Christ的音譯。原義為救世主。

司徒行傳：
11:26 找著了、就帶他到安提阿去。他們足有一年的工夫、和教會一同聚集、教訓了許多人．門徒稱為基督徒、是從安提阿起首。
and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.

26:28 亞基帕對保羅說、你想少微一勸、便叫我作基督徒阿。〔或作你這樣勸我幾乎叫我作基督徒了〕
Then Agrippa said to Paul, "Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?"

彼得前書：
4:16 若為作基督徒受苦、卻不要羞恥．倒要因這名歸榮耀給　神。
However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.
