Paradise Farm

On 3rd of August, we went to Paradise Country Farm. Form there we learnt how amazing sheep shearing was. We attended a show on sheep shearing. In the past, Australians used old-fashioned scissors to shear sheep. But now, they use electric shearer. In this show we watched how a young Australian shared a sheep.

There was about 150 million sheep in Australia. How do Australians earn money with them? By shearing. They shear 300 sheep per day. That's why Australia is famous for sheep shearing.

Next, we ate some damper (a kind of bread) and drank coffees that were cooked in a billy. A billy was a bowl-like container. These billys were filled with ingredients and then cooked above a camp fire.

After that, we saw a horse drawn wagen and a sheep dog muster. Then we watched two men throw boomerangs and crack whip.

At last, we went to milk a cow.

After all these performances, we had a BBQ lunch, and then we went to the Gold Coast to do some shopping.

We think today’s programme is much better than the Australian Zoo, especially the sheep shearing show. It was really amazing and funny. Everyone enjoyed it.
