1974 - The last journey of the Lugarno Ferry Punt 12 December - the service was provided for 131 continuous years.

1988 - Proclamation of Hurstville as a city 25 November.

1992 - St George Co-operative Building Society becomes the St
George Bank Limited on 1 July.

2001 - Hurstville's new library opens on the corner of Dora Street and Queens Road on 23 August.
