Wednesday June 5
In the morning, we went to the famous Egyptian Museum. Owing to the protection of the objects in the museum, we had to pay a fee to take the camera inside and there should be no flash.

There were two floors in the Museum. The collections were separated into different periods of time. There were thousands and thousands of collections including sculptures, coffins and other objects. You could not help being amazed by the civilization exhibited by the ancient Egyptian. When you saw how many things were created for the Pharaoh's funeral; when you imagined the efforts paid and the money spent, you could not help feeling it all so unbelievable. They looked as if they did not belong to the world we now live. There were so many meanings and so many revealed for the lost kingdom.

One of the most attractive things to me was the key of life. It was a symbol looking like a cross except the upper part became a circle. Pharaoh held it in each of his hands. It made me feel that the most mysterious part of Egypt culture was here in the key of life. Egyptian treated death so specially that the key of life seemed to become the solution of the mystery of the cycle of organisms. Were Egyptians really solving the code of life?

We had lunch back in the hotel today like everyday after. Then, we went to the Khan el Kalili Bazaar at six o'clock.

It was everything you could imagine about a market. With lots of shops selling souvenirs and other stuffs at one side and the mosque at another, Kalili gave you a very special feeling. We walked along to see all kinds of things selling in the shops. Shopkeepers were anxious to do business and they kept asking you to take a look here and there. I bought most of the souvenirs here. My best recommendation was the perfume bottles. Although you need to be careful as they are glassware, you would find Egyptian perfume bottles incredibly beautiful. They were the most popular gifts among

my friends when I showed them what I had bought there. You can also buy the Egyptian perfume. I bought one called " The Secret of Life". I found that the Egyptian perfume was not as easy to evaporate as perfume we saw usually. Somehow it was a bit oilier and the smell could stay very long. Just a tiny drop of it would give you the smell for a very long time.

(Mosque beside Khalili)

I also bought a scarf and I covered my head to experience the feeling of the local women.
