Privileges of Foreign Licence

Holder of a foreign pilot's licence is allowed to exercise the private privileges of his/her licence on Hong Kong registered aircraft as if his/her foreign licence was a Hong Kong PPL without:
        a.    an IR;
        b.    a night rating;
        c.    an instructor rating; or
        d.    any additional rating or privileges.

Before exercising the privileges of a foreign PPL, the holder will be required to:

•  show an acceptable knowledge of Hong Kong aviation law and procedures; and

•  have a flight with an Assistant Flying Instructor or Flight Instructor in which local procedures and airspace constraints were demonstrated and during which the holder showed an acceptable standard of flying.

•  Exercising these privileges are subject to the holder having a valid medical certificate from the state of licence issue, and meeting all necessary flight recency requirements of that licence.
