The AHA Horse of the Year Program was established in 2003 to provide an award for the top Arabian & Half-Arab show horses of the year. The participation in 2003 was minimal, as only Chelsea's horses really participated. In 2004, this program would be a great way to get acknowledgement for your horses and your breeding program.
Once show season is under way (starts in January with the AHA Winter Fun Show), start keep tracking of your horses' AHA points. The point system varies from show to show, and is posted with results.
To be on this board or be able to put a Legion after your horses' name (see the Rulebook for the amount of AHA points needed per Legion), contact me at windblownarabians@yahoo.com with your horses' names, whether it's an Arabian or Half-Arab, and their total AHA points earned in 2004 (starting with the AHA Winter Fun Show). I'll give you permission to use the Legion on your horse's name and if it makes the Top Ten on here, I'll put it up!
The AHA Point System was set up in 2003, so AHA points from all of those shows in 2003 also count. If you have a complete total together (from 2003 & 2004), your horse may be eligible for a higher Legion. If you need help figuring out the AHA points, just ask. I will always be willing to help!
