The Rulebook

Chapter 1 - Regional Shows
There are two regions in the regional show system. These two regions are Region 1, Windblown Arabians, and Region 2, uknown. Regions must hold one All-Arabian show during the AHA show year. These shows are called Regionals. Every other month,a different region will hold a regional show. Regional shows are qualifiying shows for the Nationals(see Chapter 5). To qualify for the Nationals, your horse must have placed Top 5 or better in the disciplines you wish to show in at the Nationals at any Regional or AHA Approved show. For example: Glitter's owner wants to go to the Nationals in 4-5 year old Mare Halter, Country English Pleasure, and First Level Dressage. To get there, Glitter goes to Regionals. She must place TOP 5 or better in each class, not just in ONE of those classes.
At the end of the Regional show year, the AHA President will publish a list of qualifiying horses, based on the placings of the horses at the Regionals.

Chapter 2 - AHA Approval
If you wish your Arabian show to be approved, you must e-mail the AHA,and we will decide whether or not your show will be approved. Your show MUST be an Arabian/Half-Arabian show, or it won't be considered, and the classlist must hold at least ten classes on the AHA classlist. By having an AHA approved show, your show will be more recognized and some shows will be able to use the Regional Point System & The AHA point system.

Chapter 3 - Scottsdale
The Scottsdale show is an annual show held by the AHA. It is considered as one of the Main Events during the AHA show year. Half-Arabian classes are also part of the program of events.Your horses do not have to qualify for this show, but it is the first jewel in the Arabian triple crown. To learn more about Scottsdale, please contact the AHA.

Chapter 4 - The Buckeye
The Buckeye is a show that's very similar to Scottsdale. The only difference is the exception of the sporthorse classes. The Buckeye offers classes for both Arabians and Half-Arabians. To learn more about the Buckeye, please contact the AHA.

Chapter 5 - Arabian Classics
The Arabian Classic Series is held by Sara Barlow. These shows are similar to both Scottsdale and the Buckeye and will qualify any horse for Nationals. To learn more about the Arabian Classics, please contact either the AHA or Sara Barlow.

Chapter 6 - National Championships
The Nationals are the biggest show of the year.To qualify for the Nationals, you must have placed in the Top 5 for each discipline you wish to Qualify in. If your horse is named Top Ten, Reserve or Champion of his divison, his value will increase signifigantly. If your horse is lucky enough to win the Arabian Triple Crown(Scottsdale, The Buckeye & Nationals) his value will increase enormously and will be undisputibly the best Arabian around,in his division.

The Nationals will be held at various locations and the AHA will be the offical sponser. To learn more about the Nationals please contact the AHA.

The H!L and Australian Arabian Nationals both fall into this chapter.

Chapter 7 - Sporthorse National Championships
The Sporthorse Nationals is very similar to the Nationals, except that it is only for the Arabian & Half-Arabian Sporthorses of H!L. To qualify for the Sporthorses Nationals, you must have placed in the Top 5 for each discipline you wish to Qualify in. If your horse is named Top Ten, Reserve or Champion of his divison, his value will increase signifigantly.

The Sporthorse Nationals will be held at various locations and the AHA will be the offical sponser. To learn more about the Nationals please contact the AHA.

Chapter 8 - Salon du Cheval (World Championships)
Besides the Nationals, the World Championships are one of the largest Arabian shows. It is the largest halter-only show in the industry and is open to only purebred Arabian Stallions and Mares. To win a World Championship is a huge honor, and if won a horse's value will increase greatly. The Salon du Cheval is judged has a larger percentage of judging based on a horse's movement than the normal National halter classes do. The classes are like a combination of Halter & Sporthorse In-Hand.

The Salon du Cheval will be held at various locations, the AHA will be the offical sponser. To learn more about the World Championships, please contact the AHA.

Chapter 9 - Open Show Program
The OSP is a fantastic program that pays back the owners of Arabs & Half-Arabs that compete in open (all breed) shows. For each division championship an Arab or Half-Arab wins at a non-AHA approved show, the owner will receive $250 and 25 AHA points. For each reserve championship, the owner will receive $100 and 10 AHA points. A division championship is one that comes from competing in several divisions of a class, such as the divisions in a hunter or jumper show, or different tests in a dressage show. To receive all pay backs, send your horse's name, the show's name and the division(s) won to chelseawesson@yahoo.com.
