Wms. (Will Box 63, Package 158, Estate #1623?) Will Book B, Page 376 Oct 1799.
[Note: HLW --- ](____?) is probably (increase), as this was a common notation in
Wills of this period.]

(Notes from jd):
Regarding Samuel Waldrop who married Susannah Wyche:
There are twelve children listed for Samuel and Susannah in the database. These cannot all be Samuel's, b. 1800, d. 1836. As I see it, only five are actually theirs, and from the censuses, we can determine which ones and their birthdates.
Samuel, Robert D., Mary Elizabeth, Susan G., and Martha G. are Samuel's children. They, and no other children, are distributees in his estate. Three appear in the 1850 census living with Susan J., their mother, Robert D., age 25, Susan G., age 19, Martha G., age 14.

In the 1830 census, when Samuel was still alive, the census showed the following:
3 m 5/10 (b. 1820-1825, Samuel, Robert D. & ?)
1 m 10/15 (b. 1815-1820, ?)
1 m 15/20 (b. 1810-1815, ?)
1m 30/40 (b. 1800-1810, husband Samuel II)
1 f u/5 (b. 1825-1830, Mary Elizabeth),
1f 20/30 (b. 1800-1810, wife Susanna J.)

Since we have proof from Samuel Sr's estate that Samuel II was born in 1800, all those males cannot be his. I suspect they were relatives living with him. We know from a later census that Robert D. was born 1825. Samuel must have been born around the same time, for if he were younger, he would have been living at home in 1850, and he was not. According to the census, Susan G. and Martha G. were born in 1831 and 1836, so if the children were born at the usual two-year intervals, this leaves the years 1827 and1833/4 available for other children. Since Mary Elizabeth is out of the household by 1850 (probably married), probably she was born 1827, rather than 1833/4. This leaves Samuel, who could not have been born in 1833/4 since he was not in the household in 1850 when he would have been age 16/17. Samuel and Susannah J, logically, would have married around 1822, so Samuel III's birthdate also fits logically at about 1823.
Thus a tentative timeline and list of children are:
Samuel III, b. 1823
Robert D., b. 1825 (proven)
Mary Elizabeth, b. 1827
Susan G., b. 1831 (proven)
Martha G., b. 1836 (Proven).
(Note that Samuel III and Mary Elizabeth's birthdates could be the reverse.)

In addition, I have some questions about the notes for Samuel Jr and his children. I would like to delete them because they are inaccurate.
"Mathias and Drayton were in the 1850 census in Newberry Co." (I do not find them there.)
"Batt and Robert D. were living with John D. Williams, guardian." (I do not find either with John D. Williams, and I don't know where the idea came from they had a guardian. Robert D. was still living at home in 1850, and I haven't the vaguest idea who Batt was, other than that was the given name of Susannah J. Wyche's father. There were no persons named Williams that were tied into Samuel's family that I know of. There WAS a John Williams who had a Waldrop living with him in 1850, but that was Marion Jefferson Waldrop, not Samuel's son, as far as I know.)
