178. Elijah Franklin WALDROP was born on 21 May 1847 in Laurens Co., S.C.. He died on 24 Jun 1920. Married in presence of T.M. Dendy, E.L. Odham, J.C. Nichols, Arthur Sheppard, Misses Ludie Crews, Lizzie Harrison, Fannie Parks, M.A. Richter and J. Fant Poston. Bible of E. Franklin Waldrop & Louisa Rachel Richter. Informant: Mrs. William D. [Betty W.] Coleman, P.O. Box 782, Greenwood, SC. 29648, from her letter to H.L. Waldrop dated 11 Jul 1996 says that she is in possession of the family Bible of William Anderson and the Workman Bible. She gave the surname of Mary as Workman and stated that the old home place still stands in Laurens Co. inhabited by the Bryson family. Birthdates of Wm. Anderson, Mary Workman Waldrop, and their children are from the Waldrop Bible [Source].

Notes of Miss Irene Workman, 202 Calvert Ave., Clinton, SC. in a letter to Mrs. bEtty W. Coleman 310 W. Laurel Ave, Greenwood, SC. 29649-1547. Elijah Franklin Waldrop served in the CSA under Capt. Nat. Jones from Laurens Co., SC. Company B. Williams Battalion. Enlisted 15 oct 1864; discharged 9 Apr 1865. Served as harbor Guard in Charleston with his slave "Ed." He was sent back home as his mother was a widow. One other brother, Ephriam had been killed in battle.

He was married to J. L. PERRIN on 16 Apr 1873.

He was married to Lousia Rachel RICHTER on 25 Feb 1878 in Greenwood Co., S.C.. Lousia Rachel RICHTER was born on 9 Apr 1849. She died on 9 Sep 1948. Elijah Franklin WALDROP and Lousia Rachel RICHTER had the following children:
