33. Elizabeth W. WALDROP was born about 1806 in Laurens Co., S.C.. Marriage License: 12 Nov 1834, Jasper Co., GA.
She was married to William Owen DAVIS II (son of
Willaim * DAVIS I and Mary BLANKENSHIP?) on 22 Dec 1824
in Jasper Co., GA.. William Owen DAVIS II was born
about 1805 in Jones Co., GA.. He died on 2 Nov 1847 in Union Co., AR.. William
O. Davis appears on the Hot Springs County tax rolls in 1840, and is no longer
listed in 1844. It was probably at this time that he moved to Union Co., AR.
Hot Springs County Deed records show that William O. Davis purchased land from
George W. Jones on January 21, 1842 but it was not recorded until January 14,
1845, probably when he got it paid for. Deed Book B, page 104. According to tax
records in Union County, AR., W.O. Davis estate had 453 acres valued at $1359
1n 1848. He had four slaves under the ages of 60 years and their value was $1925.
On November 30, 1844, William O. Davis entered into an agreement with Monticue
A. Winters to sell him tracts of land for $400. The amount was paid out with
interest and one of the receipts was lost making it difficult for Mr. Winters
to prove his payment in full. He was wanting a clear title to the land and since
William had died, Elizabeth and children were summoned to court. They by this
time [22 Feb 1861] were living in Gonzalas County, Texas, and failed to appear.
Deed Book G, Pages 80-82. January 2, 1842, William O. Davis purchased land in
Hot Springs, AR., from George and Catherine Jones of Sevier County, AR.. Document
very difficult to read. Deed Book B, Page 104. In court records of Union County,
AR., William T. Davis was named administrator of the estate of William O. Davis
with E.M. Owens and George Abbott as securities. Dated 6 Feb 1851. Elizabeth
filed her resignation and asked to be released from further serving as administrix.

Davis was appointed Adm.. Will Book A, Page 219, 6 Mar 1851.
