5. Solomon WALDROP was born on 3 Oct 1765 in Granville Co., NC.. He died in Jun 1834 in Jasper Co., GA.. As an adult, Solomon resided in Newberry, and Laurens Co. SC. and Jasper Co., GA.

1797 --- Laurens Co., SC., Deed Book "J" p. 181: James Waldrop Sr. to Solomon Waldrop 234 1/2 acres [no listing of where this land is located, but see below]

1810 --- Laurens Co., SC., Deed Book J, #187 Dated 20 Nov 1810 recorded 11 Jan 1811: Solomon Waldrip to Ellis Cheek for $600 234 1/2 acres where said Solomon Waldrop now lives, part of William Williamson's Big Survey of 550 acres conveyed to james Waldrop Sr. and by him to said Solomon Waldrop. Wit: John Wallis, Wm. Cheek, Starling Tucker, J.P.. [Dowery Rights ] of Salley X Waldrop.

1831 --- Will written 1831 probated 1839 Jasper Co., GA. , Volume, 1, Will Book, N, Georgia Chapter DAR. Administrator, except in Equity Suit 1834 #8, Elihu Waldrop, admin. of Soloman Waldrop.

1834--Elihu N. Waldrop made $2000 bond in Jasper co., Ga as administrator of the estate of his father, Solomon. (Will Bk. N, p. 176) An inventory was submitted to the Jasper Co. court 3 Oct 1834, and the sale was held 5 Oct 1834. Buyers were widow Sarah, Larkin Adams, William Grubbs, David wooten, Martin Holloway, Simeon N. Waldrop, James Waldrop, Lecil J. Waldrep, Silas Grubbs, David Waldrop, William Simpson, etc.

1850 --- Wife Sarah living with son Simeon 1850 Census, Monroe Co., GA.

1857 --In an 1857 letter to the Commissioner of Pensions by Elihu Waldrop, Esq. (son of Solomon), Elihu identifies James Waldrop (who m. Mary Morrison) as a kinsman.

1860 ---Simeon and Sarah living in Henry Co., GA. in 1860

1870 --- Simeon and Sarah living in Clayton Co., GA. in 1870.

Researchers:
A book about his descendants was written by Joy Ruth Waldrep Mahan in 1994 and the title is "Our Kith and Kin". It is a rather accurate compilation of part of the descendants of Solomon. A descendant that has done extensive research on the entire line is Connie Waldrop-Yancey. Connie was living in Clayton County GA in 1994.

He was married to Sarah Jane AULTOM (daughter of James * [Aultum] AULTOM and Phoebe) about 1794 in Monticello, Newberry Co., S.C.. Sarah Jane AULTOM was born about 1770 in S.C.. She died about 1868 in Clayton Co., GA.. Sarah Aultom daughter of James Aultom and Phebe. Solomon WALDROP and Sarah Jane AULTOM had the following children:
