The geographic position gives to this area a tipically mediterranean climate, with warm winters and hot summers. Such conditions has an important role for the cultivation of particular products as sugar cane, grape and citrus fruits giving to this area the name of Golden Valley. Around Capo Zafferano, with its white lighthouse on a rock above the sea where thousands of seagulls live, the undersea world is one of the most beautyful in Mediterraneo, rich of archeological rests of different times and many multicolored fishes. It is worth to visit Sant'Elia, a small port where time seems to be suspended;
San Nicolicchio port, once dedicated to fish stockage; Porticello, a still
active fisherman center; and of course the famous archeological area of
Solunto. |
