HONEYCRACK - London LA2
11 July 1996

Review of Honeycrack supporting 60ft Dolls at London LA2 from Addicted To Noise Music News Of The World, 13 July 1996, by Tim Gaskill.

Honeycrack promise a lot. Although the three guitar line-up made me think of Molly Hatchet or something they at least sounded liked a souped-up pop band with five part harmonies. I wouldn't normally say this, but the harmonies were their main downfall. Sure they're nice - the Beach Boys taught us that. But they should be used like an uppercut that comes from nowhere and floors your opponent. Use them all the time and their utility is gone. I will say this about Honeycrack - watch out for them, they could be contenders one day. (During Honeycrack's set the crowd surfers emerged and were continually fed to the front for the security men to bail out and then send them on their way only to see them recirculate and be back up front again within 30 seconds.)
