Angela's Mostly Disney World

Maintainer of the R.A.D.* Creative Archives

Greetings! Welcome to a badly outdated page that's (mostly) devoted to Disney. I'm the Future Disney Cabinet (FDC) Mulan. I also write parodies of Disney songs which my fellow netters on rec.arts.disney.* (R.A.D.*) enjoyed (or at least tolerated).

Mulan

Don't know who Mulan is? Want to learn more about her? Check out the Mulan FAQ. Since there have been so many changes recently, you can find out what's new here. You can also read the Mulan poem in English and visit Disney's Mulan site.

Parodies

"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and the parody second most sincere." I've been writing and posting Disney-inspired parodies. Plenty of other people have been inspired as well. The R.A.D.* Creative Archives showcases their wonderful stuff. Debbie Pickett collected most of the pre-The Lion King posts, and I am in the process of adding new ones.

CSG #11/CHM #41: Claire de Lune

While waiting for Mulan, I took up the identity of Claire de Lune, a member of the CSG (Clopin's Secret Girlfriends) and Clopin's Harem (part of Clopin's Gypsy Band). Clopin is the wonderful narrator, puppeteer, and King of Gypsies in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. He's also attracted a following that rivals that of some of the favorite Disney characters of the past. He's cool and a lot of fun, which is how I got into the whole thing.

Claire de Lune is a poet-playwright who has suffered a disappointing career full of actors who forgot their lines, constant interruptions during shows, falling scenery, writer's block, poor advertising, and--occasionally--bad writing. Then one day Claire meets the performer to top all performers (guess who?).

Due to my work on the Mulan FAQ as well as some other responsibilities, Claire's story has been put on hold for a while, and I can't say when she'll be back. But I'm sure your imagination can take up the tale...

Anime

Disney will be distributing English-dubbed versions of some wonderful anime films. I've seen several films (most of them directed by Hayao Miyazaki), and particularly recommend Kiki's Delivery Service, Whisper of the Heart, and My Neighbor Totoro.

Anime TV Series

Along the lines of anime, there are a few television series that I also recommend. They include

Thanks to Marc Hairston and his evil influence in getting me addicted to these. ^_^
