A press conference is called to explain the ships disappearance. Miss Kitka, a Russian reporter from the Moscow Bugle (really Catwoman in disguise), joins in the media event. She asks who Batman and Robin really are. The commissioner thinks this is an outrage, since no one should have to know who is behind the masks as long as they are helping fight crime in Gotham City. Batman explains to him that she is not from our country and doesn't realize their identity must remain secret. Batman ends the press conference on that note. Commissioner Gordon, Chief O'Hara, Batman, and Robin then look through the crime computer database on known criminals who are out of jail, only to find that Catwoman, Riddler, Penguin, and the Joker have all been released. That means that any one of them could be the criminal. Batman and Robin go back to the Batlab to examine the picture the automatic Batcopter Batcamera took while they were flying over the ship.

Miss Kitka (Catwoman) asks for the caped crusaders' real identity.	Batman discovers his hypothesis on how the vessel disappeared is true.

Meanwhile, the "Fearsome Four" bring Commodore Shmidlapp back to their hideout (he was knocked out from the Penguin's sleeping gas in the transfer) to where they have constructed a "set" to look exactly like the room he had in the ship. Miss Kitka returns to the villains hideout at Ye Old Benbow Tavern, to where the rest of the United Underworld members await the news. After she tells them that the exploding shark trap didn't work, they begin to get testy with each other, then realizing they have to be united to be able to carry out their plans. The Penguin comes up with an idea for another trap and they quickly board the Penguin's submarine.

The Joker brings the Commodore some tea.	Catwoman enters the hideout as Miss Kitka.

Using a magnifying glass, Batman and Robin see a marker buoy in the picture that should not be there. They decide to check the spot where the ship had disappeared once again. While checking the buoy for fingerprints, they find out that the illusion was produced by a huge projector hidden inside. Just after discovering this, the Penguin gives the call to his henchmen to turn the magnet inside the buoy on. Batman and Robin's utility belts are attracted by the magnetic field and keep them from moving. The four villains in the sub see that they now have Batman trapped. They fire torpedoes from the sub. While it looks like our dynamic duo has no chance at all in surviving, Batman uses his Bat-transmitor to make just the right frequency for the torpedoes to explode before reaching them. On the last torpedo, the batteries in the transmitter die and the projectile gets through..BAM!!! But what of Batman and Robin? No need to worry, they are safe in the Batboat--a porpoise saved their lives by swimming out in front of the torpedo.

The Penguin tells his henchman to throw the switch that will activate the magnet inside the bouy.	Batman and Robin talk about the porpous that saved their life from the torpedo.
