Walk of Fame : Sydney Pollack is in talks to helm the comedy Walk of Fame, with an eye toward directing. The film is about a business writer for a small newspaper who writes an exposé on what it means to be famous. He decides to make himself the subject and the scribe transforms himself by enlisting a blonde bombshell to pretend she’s dating him. The actress agrees, figuring that dating a serious-looking business writer might convince others to reconsider how they perceive her and thus land her more interesting roles....

Brad Pitt : He is in talks to make an untitled Cameron Crowe film. Anna Paquin (Hurlyburly) also in talks to play Polexia . Pitt also is in negotiations to play in Metal God, which is based on a true story about a traveling salesman from Ohio who triumphed over his lowly status by playing in a Judas Priest cover band.

Galaxy Quest : Tim Allen is in in talks to play in sci-fi comedy Galaxy Quest. Allen will play a former TV actor who must adopt his space captain persona when he and fellow cast members are recruited by a group of aliens to save their imperiled race.

Ton 80 : Madonna is is attached to star and produce Ton 80 The film is a romantic comedy about a fame-seeking tabloid television reporter (Madonna) who falls in love with a reclusive, guarded self-help author she has been assigned to expose. 

The Time Machine : Warner Bros. and DreamWorks are will produce a new version of H.G. Wells' The Time Machine. Steven Spielberg may possibly direct the picture, targeted for a summer 2000 release. The story is set in Victorian England, centered on a scientist who builds a time machine that, after several failures, eventually works...

Mama Masai : Wendy Finerman, producer of Forrest Gump, and Helen Hunt are teaming for epic drama Mama Masai.

Scream If You Know What I Did Last Halloween : Keenan Ivory Wayans will direct Scream If You Know What I Did Last Halloween. The comedic send-up of recent horror films will feature Marlon and Shawn Wayans as part of the film's ensemble cast.

American Horror : Clive Barker (Hellraiser, Candyman) will direct American Horror for the first time since 1995’s Lord of Illusions. The film will be set on the American railroad as it expands westward in Illinois and Wyoming, in or around 1866.

RKO 281 : Melanie Griffith is has joined the cast of HBOs' RKO 281,which is about the battle between Orson Welles and William Randolph Hearst over the making of Citizen Kane. Griffith will play Hearst mistress Marion Davies. She joins Liev Schreiber (Welles), James Cromwell (Hearst), and John Malkovich (Herman Mankiewicz). Ben Ross will direct.

X-Men : 20th Century Fox and Marvel have pacted to extend the studio’s control of the feature film rights to three projects based on Marvel’s X-Men, Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer. Fox is currently in pre-production for a summer start on X-Men, which will be helmed by Bryan Singer and produced by Richard Donner and Lauren Shuler Donner.
