Film is about mountain-climbing, which concerns a climber who swears off the sport after the accidental death of his father. But he is forced to scramble up the famous K2 mountain when his sister becomes trapped in a cave. More Dogs Than Bones : Michael Browning will direct More Dogs Than Bones with a cast that includes Mercedes Ruehl, Louise Fletcher, Whoopi Goldberg , Joe Mantegna, Peter Coyote. The film is a crime caper in which a group of hapless young people from a rundown part of downtown L.A. are unwittingly caught up with a gang of professional mobsters.
Play It to the Bone : Antonio Banderas and Woody Harrelson will star in Play It to the Bone. Ron Shelton (White Men Can't Jump) will direct the film which also stars Lolita Davidovich. It centers on two boxers who journey from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, where they attempt to resurrect their floundering careers. Vatel : Uma Thurman and Tim Roth are in final negotiations to star opposite Gerard Depardieu in Vatel. The film takes place during 48 hours as legendary chef Vatel prepares a feast for King Louis XIV that will determine the success of a political event. Art of War : Wesley Snipes has signed to star in Art of War. Director Stanley Tong (Mr. Magoo) is in preliminary talks to helm. In the film international forces threaten to bring down the United Nations, and the only man who can stop them is a person who does not officially exist. The Mothman Prophecies : Richard Gere is in final negotiations to star The Mothman Prophecies. Film tells the story of a reporter (Gere) who leaves his paper after his wife dies to pursue a series of strange events in a small town and realizes they point to an alien visitation. Carl Franklin will direct. Monkey Bone : Whoopi Goldberg is in negotiations to star opposite of Brendan Fraser in Monkey Bone. She will play the role of Death. Pic is about a neurotic cartoonist (Fraser) with a hit animated TV show who gets into a car crash and enters a coma. He must join forces with one of his creations, Monkey Bone, to outwit Death and escape Dark Town, a purgatory-like limbo between life and death. All the Pretty Horses : Penelope Cruz has been cast to star opposite Matt Damon in All the Pretty Horses.The film will be directed by Billy Bob Thornton. Cruz plays a Mexican girl from an upper-class family that discourages her romance with Damons character. Charlie's Angels : Drew Barrymore is in final negotiations to star in and produce Charlie's Angels for Columbia Pictures. The comedy will be a film version of the 1976-81 Aaron Spelling television series about three gun-toting women working for a wealthy mystery man who runs a detective agency via speaker phone with his assistant Bosley.
