Kevin BaconThe Hollow Man : Kevin Bacon is in negotiations to play the lead in The Hollow Man. Paul Verhoeven will direct. Elisabeth Shue and Kevin Bacon will play scientists who were former lovers and who discover the secret of invisibility. Last week Shue joined the film and Verhoeven is seeking for another actor to play the scientist that Shue’s character is romantically involved with .

Chief : Morgan Freeman will star in the comedy Chief which is based a true story about an African tribal chief’s son. He is sent to the U.S. to learn how to bring his tribe into the 20th century. He studies and then decides to stay in the U.S. and join corporate culture. But when his father takes ill, he expects his son to return home.

Seed of Chucky : Fifth installment of the Child's Play will be written and directed by it's own creator Don Mancini. Jennifer Tilly is said to be in talks to reprise her role as Tiffany, Chucky’s lovelorn human girlfriend. Pic will be the directing debut of Mancini.

1500 : Michael Cimino (The Deer Hunter) is attached to direct 1500 which focuses on the discovery of Brazil by the Portuguese. Cimino's last film was Sunchaser.

Bobby and Peter Farrelly : Bobby and Peter Farrelly are working on two scripts to follow up their blockbuster hit comedy There's Something About Mary. In Me, Myself and Irene, a woman falls in love with two people in one — a cop with a split personality. And they are still working on Stuck on You, a comedy about Siamese twins that was supposed to have starred Woody Allen and Jim Carrey.

Head Over Heels : Claire Danes is in negotiations to star in Head Over Heels. The film is a romantic comedy set in the world of modeling. It centers on a woman attracted to a man despite her thinking she’s seen him kill someone. Mark Waters (The House of Yes) will direct the film.

Spider-Man : According to Cinescape Online, James Cameron will not make the Spider-Man movie. Cameron told World Entertainment News Network that "I have definitely moved on,". "It was something I really wanted to do eight years ago when I was first after the project. But your ideas change and the ways in which you want to proportion your life's energies. When you make a film every two or three years, you make that decision very carefully and not just because everyone wants you to make it.".

28 Days : Viggo Mortensen is in final negotiations to star opposite Sandra Bullock in 28 Days. Betty Thomas will direct the film which is about a newspaper columnist (Bullock) who is forced to enter a drug and alcohol rehab center after getting a traffic ticket for driving under the influence. Mortensen will play a fellow rehab patient who is one of the people that impact Bullock's life during her recovery.

Star Wars Episode One (The Phantom Menace) : Star Wars Web site has released the new trailer for Episode One: The Phantom Menace and also a new poster. Check out the new trailer and the poster.

The Notebook : Jim Sheridan is in negotiations to direct The Notebook,the adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks bestselling novel. Steven Spielberg was in serious conversations to direct but his other Entertainment ASYLUMprojects made him unavailable. The film version of the bestseller concerns a retired salesman in North Carolina who dutifully visits a woman in a nursing home, takes down a notebook from a shelf, and reads her a love story about two men vying for the same woman during the 1930s and '40s. It soon becomes apparent that the nursing home patient is the woman, and the narrator is one of the men, her husband. She has Alzheimer's Disease, so the stories are new to her each time. It's unclear until later which of the men the narrator is.
