Pic, which toplines Peter Weller and Daryl Hannah, begins shooting Saturday in Bucharest. In the suspense thriller, a career diplomat (Weller) and a consular expert (Hannah) attempt to thwart Serbian terrorists who take 37 people hostage in an American Embassy. Light It Up : Fox 2000 is in negotiations with Usher and actors Forest Whitaker, Vanessa L. Williams and Rosario Dawson to star in Edmonds Entertainment's Light It Up. The film will be directed by Craig Bolotin (That Night). Light It Up concerns a group of students who take over a run-down high school and attempt to improve conditions. How the Grinch Stole Christmas : Universal and Imagine Films are in negotiations to hire the writing team of Peter Seaman and Jeffrey Price to pen their high-profile live-action feature How the Grinch Stole Christmas starring Jim Carrey. Chill Factor : Peter Firth, David Paymer and Hudson Leick had joined the pic about men who must transport a substance thats as unstable as it is toxic. The film toplines Skeet Ulrich and Cuba Gooding Jr. in the Hugh Johnson-helmed pic.Chill follows the mission of two men transporting an extremely poisonous substance that will cause widespread contamination if its allowed to warm higher than 50 degrees. The Story of Us : Film and TV actor/director Tim Matheson has joined the cast of comedy-drama The Story of Us. Castle Rock principal Rob Reiner is directing the film about an estranged couple, played by Bruce Willis and Michelle Pfeiffer, attempting to resolve their differences and preserve their 16-year marriage. Matheson plays Pfeiffers love interest during her separation from Willis.
The Crow: Salvation : Miramax's genre label Dimension Films will reteam with Edward Pressman Film Corp. for The Crow: Salvation, the second big-screen sequel to the gothic urban chiller. No casting has been named for The Crow: Salvation. The new film will be directed by Bharat Nalluri, who helmed the thrillers Killing Time and Down Time. The script is by Chip Johannessen (Fox's Millennium) from an original story by Matt Greenberg. Gun Shy : Liam Neeson will star with Sandra Bullock in Gun Shy, a black comedy. Oliver Platt is in talks to play the third lead. In the film, Neeson will play a world weary DEA agent who is looking forward to retirement, but must get through one final difficult case before he can. Eric Blakeney will direct. Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace : Lucasfilm took to the Web to release the title of George Lucas upcoming Star Wars film: Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. Carlo's Wake : Helen Slater, Theresa Saldana, Michael Chiklis and Juliet Landau have joined the cast of Carlo's Wake starring Martin Landau and Rita Moreno. Carlo's Wake is a comedy about the life, death and wake of an Italian-American patriarch (Landau). Michael Valerio directs. Guy Gets Kid : Cole Sprouse, Jon Stewart, Leslie Mann, Josh Mostel and Rob Schneider have joined the cast of Guy Gets Kid. Pic, which stars Adam Sandler and Joey Lauren Adams, is about irresponsible law school graduate Sonny (Sandler), who is about to lose his girlfriend (Adams) because he is avoiding his adult responsibilities.
