Get Carter : Sam Bayer is in negotiations to direct Sylvester Stallone in Get Carter. Film is the remake of a British gangster pic which is a Mike Hodges’ cult 1971 film that was based on Ted Lewis’ novel Jack’s Return Home and starred Michael Caine, Ian Hendry and Britt Ekland. The film story tells of a mobster who searches through a violent underworld for revenge after his younger brother is murdered. This film will be Bayer’s directorial debut.

Cold Mountain : According to Hollywood Reporter Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and other A-lister actors want to play the lead role in Anthony Minghella's latest project Cold Mountain. Damon starred in Minghella's latest film The Talented Mr. Ripley. Pic is a Civil War drama that focuses on a wounded Confederate soldier who gets up from his hospital bed and begins walking home. The project is being written by Minghella.

Hannibal : After Jonathan Demme left the project a few weeks ago (because the material was too violent and wanted to make changes), now producer Dino De Laurentiis is in final negotiations to deal with Ridley Scott to direct Hannibal, the sequel to Silence of the Lambs. There is no name for the screenwriter yet.

Jumanji 2 : Ken Ralston will direct the sequel to 1995's Jumanji which starred Robin Williams. The film was about an ancient magical board game that came to life and wreaked havoc that could only be stopped by finishing the game. This will be Ralston's directorial debut who won visual effects Oscar five times. No deals made for casting yet.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace : Lucasfilm and Fox confirmed the names of four

theaters that will screen the filmless, digital version of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. The pic will be shown in Southern California on June 18 at AMC's Burbank 14 and Pacific Theatres' Winnetka Stadium 20 in Chatsworth and in New Jersey at two Loews Cineplex theaters. CineComm Digital Cinema and Texas Instruments' Digital Light Processing will beam the film to the screen at one theater on each coast. CineComm's system will screen at the Winnetka and at Loews' Route 4 Paramus theater in New Jersey, while the Texas Instruments technology will be on display in Burbank and at Loews' Meadows 6 theater in New Jersey.

You Can Count on Me : Laura Linney ( The Truman Show) will star opposite Matthew Broderick in in You Can Count on Me. Linney will play a mother struggling to raise her child while fending off an overbearing boss. Kenneth Lonergan (Analyze This screenwriter) will make directorial debut. The film's executer producer is Martin Scorcese.

The film centers on a New York paleontologist (Fonda) who is serching for an explanation of a grisly death and went to the area around Lake Placid, quickly teaming up with a local fish and game warden (Pullman). Their investigation leads to an amazing discovery, that this cold freshwater lake is the home of a huge 35-foot crocodile....

"The Loss of Sexual Innocence" Full Trailer (3.6 Mb, MOV) Director Mike Figgiss' latest film (Leaving Las Vegas) which is like many adaptations of plays by William Shakespeare. The film is based on the legend of Adam and Eve found in the Bible book, Genesis. The pic is a series of short stories about a man (Mike Figgis alike) who becomes a film director. Jonathan Rhys Myers and Julian Sands stars in this film.

Meet the Parents and 33 Liberty Street : Robert De Niro is in talks to star in the comedy Meet the Parents. Jay Roach is attached to helm the comedy which is about a young man who’s en route to meet his future in-laws, but is warned by a stranger not to do it. Not heeding the advice, he finds himself in a tragicomic nightmare with his fiancee’s parents. After he is attached to star in Navy Diver now De Niro would portray the father in the Parents. After Cuba Gooding Jr.'s exit for the lead in the Navy Diver, now the filmmakers have begun interviewing for his replacement. And also De Niro in negotiations to star in 33 Liberty Street which centers on a New York-set love story involving a low-level hood and a terminally ill woman who plan an inside job to rob a gold reserve.

The Thomas Crown Affair : The film have a plot like Entrapment but a remake of 1968s' The Thomas Crown Affair and stars Pierce Brosnan as Thomas Crown and Rene Russo. The official site has released trailer for the film so check out!

Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace : Hollywood Reporter reports that the films' full-length copies have been released in downloadable format on Internet sites. We're taking a very aggressive stance and working with the FBI and the MPAA to go after anybody who has put or intends to put our film on the Web, Lucasfilm spokeswoman Lynne Hale said, noting that the copies brought to Lucasfilm's attention thus far have been of very poor quality. While that may be true, particularly in the case of bootlegs obtained by sneaking a camera into a movie theater, some observers claim to enjoy downloaded dupes with crisp imagery and pristine digital sound. Also the film earned $64.8 million during the four-day Memorial Day weekend, bringing the film's 13-day total to a stunning $205 million. The film beats the previous record set by Independence Day. by eight days. Phantom's four-day cume is second-best on the holiday, behind The Lost World: Jurassic Park, but Lost World opened Friday of Memorial Day weekend 1997 while Phantom was in release nine days before this year's holiday.

Benny Lynch : Robert Carlyle (Transpotting) will star in the Scottish biopic Benny Lynch which his four film teammate Antonia Bird directs. The pic is based on the true story of a Scottish boxer (Carlyle) in the 1930s who hit the skids after becoming world champion.

Where the Heart Is : Ashley Judd (Heat, Kiss The Girls) will star in Where the Heart Is which Natalie Portman is in the lead. The film will be directorial debut of Matt Williams. Judd will play the best friend of Portman. In the pic Portman will play the role of a pregnant 17-year-old who plans to travel cross-country to California with her boyfriend, but is abandoned by him in an Oklahoma Wal-Mart and makes the store her home. Also Sally Field is in negotiations to take a cameo role in the film.

Mars : Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) has joined the cast of sci-fi film Mars to star beside Val Kilmer. In the pic she plays a pilot who stays on the ship while an astronaut (Kilmer) leads a crew on the first manned mission to the red planet. After they are stranded, she's forced to decide whether to follow orders and return to Earth, or disobey them and engage in a death-defying rescue. Antony Hoffman will make his feature debut. Star Wars: Phantom Menace Pirate Vcd : Only one week after the release of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, pirate video compact discs (vcd) of the movie are being sold in a Portuguese-run territory called Macau. The film is sold for 12-14 patacas ($1.50) and it is said to have Chinese subtitles.

What Planet Are You From? : The Casting for the movie What Planet Are You From? is completed by director Mike Nichols. The final cast includes Greg Kinnear, John Goodman, Ben Kingsley, Linda Fiorentino, Nora Dunn and newcomer Judy Greer. The movie is about an extraterrestrial with a mechanical penis sent to mate with a female earthling.
