A Merry War

Quitting a decent job as an advertising copy writer, Gordon sets out in life to become a starving poet.

In search of escape from the worries of life, which so very much involve money, he finds himself soon on his way down the social life ladder. Going from middle class to the low of the low, Gordon soon loses sight of his direction in life, discovering only that life never slows down at any social level.

However, when the love of a woman and their future prospects are at stake, Gordon with little choice, climbs back out of the gutter to provide for those he loves.

An entertaining and very down-to-earth movie, although somewhat slow at first, it proves to be a charming and well written story filled with great acting.
