Where to Find Tapes, Autographs, Merchandise, etc.

Getting Old Episodes on Tape

You keep hearing about landmark episodes like Switchman, Cypher, Blind Man's Bluff, or Flight but haven't seen them? Unfortunately, there are no "official" VHS or DVD versions of The Sentinel yet. Therefore, the only way to see the episodes is to wait for them to be shown on Sci Fi Channel or get episode copies on tape from another fan.

Many Sentinel fans out there are usually willing to copy old taped episodes for new fans. The best thing to do is to post a request on a major mailing list such as Cascade Times or Sentinel Angst or on the newsgroup, alt.tv.sentinel. (Information on how to get to these is here.)

You can also try Tape Search, a mailing list for people wanting copies of TV episodes.

Fan Clubs and Actor Websites / Where to Write to Get Autographs

The RBFC is Richard Burgi's official fan club and provides the most recent information (acting, projects) on Richard Burgi. You can write Richard or get a picture of him through the RBFC.

Garettmaggart.net (unofficial site) is the best place to get the most recent information (acting, public appearances, projects) and pictures on Garett Maggart. To write Garett, try writing him through his agency (address on the site).

Ryf Van Rij's personal site (actor who played Detective Rafe) contains the most recent information on Ryf Van Rij.

Henri Brown's official page (actor who played Detective Brown)

If you want to get an autographed picture of Ryf Van Rij (Detective Rafe), Henri Brown (Detective Brown), or John Sampson (Ellison's stunt double), visit the Saltwater Productions page.

Anna Galvin: An Unofficial Site has the most recent information on the actress as well as an agent address where you can write her.

Bruce A. Young Unofficial Site has information on BAY's most recent projects.

Merchandise

Although Paramount has not produced official The Sentinel merchandise, there are still fun TS "extras" out there for fans, including glossy promo pictures and stills, videos, scripts, and even a CD. Some of the stuff (particularly pictures and souvenier items fans received while visiting the set in Vancouver while TS was still filming) comes up for sale on Ebay and often sells for high prices. Here's some of the stuff that's out there (happy hunting).

NOTE: Please DO NOT write me asking to buy merchandise or asking me to help you find these items! Either check Ebay or join a fan mailing list to ask for copies of videos.

Videos
Sentinel Con 1998 and CouverCon 1999 tapes -- Fans who attended the two official Sentinel conventions in Vancouver video-taped the events, including hilarious question-and-answer sessions with Richard Burgi and Garett Maggart and auctions where the actors auctioned off set souveniers (Blair's vest from Switchman, Jim's badge, etc.) for charity.
Blooper Tapes -- PetFly made two blooper reels containing bloopers from 1st, 2nd and 3rd seasons. Copies of the tapes were made and purchased by fans.
CPAC Tape -- A ~2 hour Canadian documentary about producing a TV show was made using The Sentinel crew, sets and actors during the production of Foreign Exchange (3rd season). Most of the crew, Danny Bilson, Richard Burgi, Garett Maggart, Bruce A. Young, and Anna Galvin are interviewed. My review? The interviewer is boring as is most of the documentary, but the too-short final portion showing the scene rehearsals and actor interviews are *so* funny.

CD's
A Senti-mental Christmas
-- During December 1998 when The Sentineel by Blair Sandburg was filming, Henri Brown produced this CD with Christmas songs interspersed with holiday greetings from the The Sentinel cast and crew, including Danny Bilson, Richard Burgi, Garett Maggart, Henri, Ryf van Rij, and Anna Galvin. The CD went through two limited printings, but you can check with Saltwater Productions to see if there are any copies left.

The Sentinel soundtrackThe official The Sentinel soundtrack CD containing the show's original theme by James Newton Howard and music from various episodes is available on-line directly from Sonic Images or from Amazon. Very cool!

Pictures
Lots of 8x10 glossy official TS promo pictures come up on Ebay from time to time, but you may be able to get the same pictures from one of these stores for much cheaper. Mackie's site (she's one of the most avid TS memorabilia collectors in the fandom) contains a listing of available pictures.
Hollywood Book & Poster -- if you're ever in Hollywood, consider visiting this store on Hollywood Boulevard's Walk of Fame. Ask to see their The Sentinel file and you'll find many slides you can ask for prints from for reasonable prices. They'll mail the pictures to you or you can pick them up.
Ohlinger's -- has a large collection of Sentinel photos available, but no online listing of pictures, and their hard copy picture list is terrible. Becky has a created a listing of the picture numbers and a description of each one on her Sentinel Gallery Page under Guide to pictures available from Ohlinger's and linked to Mackie's picture collection to help you get the pictures you want from them.

Other Stuff
Crew merchandise including a very limited number of official crew jackets, hats, and other souveniers is also floating around. Some of this was originally auctioned at the conventions, some sold directly by former crew members, and some sold by fans who received souveniers during set visits. Watch Ebay for the stuff.

The RBFC (Richard Burgi Fan Club) holds occasional auctions to benefit RB's charities. Past items have included autographed pictures and TS scripts. Watch their site for auction announcements.

Cascade Underground -- has a listing of Sentinel merchandise including fan-produced items, additional places selling glossy promo photos, and who to contact for convention videos (not updated frequently).
