This movie is what you would expect it to be. It's silly, semi-witty, semi-stupid, fun but by no means meant to be taken seriously. What else would you expect with a cast like Rachel Leigh Cook and Parker Posey? Not to mention that it's based off a cartoon. The cast is okay. Alan Cumming shows once again, as he did in Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, that he has excellent comedic timing. Parker Posey, although usually annoying, is fitting in her role.

But I must say that Tara Reid is the star of the show. She steals every scene she's in. She really is the only light in this otherwise semi-dull movie. Rachel Leigh Cook is not as annoying as she usually is, but don't get me wrong...she still is. As for the rest of the cast, including a hilarious boy band in the beginning of the movie, it's your basic show case of up and coming talent. What this movie has are some very talented actors making the best of a silly script. The music isn't hideous, like you would imagine, but it's not worth listening to either.

The costumes are a touch scary but what else do you expect from a movie that's supposed to be ultra hip. The movie is extremely silly with it's villainous plan much like an Austin Powers plot, but has a silly twist in the end. The movie plays on today's emphasis of brand names which adds a bit of wit to the film. But you get the point real quick and the movie dwells in it a little too long.

The narrowing of the Pussycats down to just Josie was predictable and unnecessary except that it causes a plot twist.

So, the movie is okay, it's kinda funny but it's still stupid. If you're in the mood for some cheap laughs, this is the movie for you.
