Ahh, the oh-so politically correct Disney is back with yet another film. I must say I wasn't really looking that forward to seeing this film after the unoriginal, fill it to the brim with moral messages, Pocahontas and Hunchback of Notre Dame. I have yet to see Hercules (oh darn!). And by the way, I can't believe they actually dare to put out a Pocahontas II. Anyway, as I was saying. I didn't really want to see this, BUT, I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, there is a bit of politicaly correctness, but because of the setting, it's warranted. I was very surprised at Eddie Murphy (and more surprised that Disney would hire someone with his rep to do children's films) His character was very cute and had many funny lines. He pulled off the part brilliantly as the comic relief of the show. Surprise, surprise, the animation was impecable. The bowing scene and the fight scene were amazing and I'm still in awe of how they do it. Anyway, I say it's a very charming children's film. And I would even recommend it for the older folks. |
