Gina, Britanny and Brianna Diggers, as well as Ryan, Genn, Ichi, Akaru, Arnie, Asrial, Professor Azland, Mita Celande, and May have all been scattered by the five winds of time to various eras by the ever-so-evil time-travelling villain-dog Dr. Peachbody (and his pet boy, Benji.)
PROLOGUE - Brit and Bri find out that the two spaceships are the city-ships of El Dorado and Atlantis. Brit goes to "fix" something...
Awakening from their travel, Gina and Mita find themselves in Edo, feudal Japan, (1790s). They become hostages in a ninja war between the Ichinoei family and the Rivalsan Clan. (I don't make this up, Mr. Perry does. Or is that Mr. Dunn?)
Caught by the bad Daishi, the girls also meet Icci (note the spelling), a ninja of the Ichinoei family. She saves them, but they allow Daishi to learn of their time-travelling.
Daishi turns traitor on the Rivalsan clan, saving face for the Ichinoei family, which (with the help of a letter) makes them the Ichinoei Clan. In return, Daishi shows them the car, (which also made the trip.)
The car goes boom, Daishi isn't pleased that they've botched his plan to steal the car, and they warp out of there at the last millisecond. (Believe me.)
The cover looks excellent, but has nothing to do with the story.
The interior artwork made me pee. It was THAT good. In one of the single greatest panels ever depicted by Mr. Perry, Icci dodges arrowfire. Trés cool.
I don't know what patience it requires to construct a comic book single-handedly, but my respect for Mr. Perry's trees and shrubbery (the leaves look to be drawn individually!) is infinitesimal. Wait.. that means small. Okay, how about priceless? No, that's without value. Hmm...
Okay.
I LOVE IT!
In other news...
Rumour has it that Daishi is really... well, wait about five more issues. You'll see...
