"It always wasn't like this..."
This issue is one of the finest tributes to one of the greatest cult movies ever, "Army of Darkness". Ryan, Asrial and Arnie find themselves in an era dominated by Natasha, Queen of the Vampires. She lives in the castle Raimilot, heh. The trio get separated and rejoined, all while gaining a new friend by name of Lili Masters, (Mimi Masters' ancestor.)
With the aid of the Necronomicon, Lili makes the bad guys go away, and helps send Ryan, Asrial and Arnie forward into time...
I didn't want to give to much away in the above synopsis. This story, provided you've seen the Evil Dead movies, is hilarious. I did feel that the typos were sometimes distracting, but with fantastic art and the excellent storyline, I made it through easily.
The cover is nice, probably because I like those hairstyles. I'd say that it is probably one of Mr. Perry's most aesthetic covers to date.
The interior art is superb. Oh, and this comic (unlike most others I've ever read) has a definite replay value. Or reread value.
Two last notes... I love Lili's outfit. If everyone back then dressed that way, I'd become a time-traveller right now. Secondly, the skeletons are so funny, I almost spewed my choco-latté (hot chocolate) onto the pages.
