After Dr. Peachbody (and his pet attack-boy Benji) unsuccessfully sent a portion of the Gold Digger and Ninja High School characters to their doom, he now finds his own past in peril. Everyone goes to the final battle spot... the Jet Vet Veterinarian shop, circa 1985.
Wow. It's a mass battle staged in the parking lot of a shopping mall in Norfolk, Virginia. Gina, Mita, Professor Azland, Genn, and Dr. Peachbody stay out of it while Britanny, Brianna, Akaru, Ichi, Arnie, Asrial, and Benji go medieval!!
All I can give out is that Benji and Peachbody, about to be defeated, merge into a single being. Peachbody: "And so I opted for this voluntary schizophrenia to make effective my final gambit... which is... TO BEAT YOU ALL UP"
He/they lose. The good guys win. 'S'all you need to know, except that you HAVE to pick up this comic book.
Wow.
THIS is the crescendo, the peak, the never-again-to-be-matched BEST comic book that Fred Perry has EVER put out. A solid two pages devoted to the theory of time-travel (via pseudo-science, natch), followed with a full book of hurt.
Normally, Mr. Perry can do either great story and dialogue with average art, great story and art with average dialogue, or great dialogue and art with average story. Not here. Mr. Perry easily juggles around 12 characters with the greatest dynamics his style has ever shown. They stay true to their characteristics, they are all in the right places at the right times (story-wise), and they all manage to keep the humour top-notch.
I'd love to relate to you the funniest moments of this comic, but I can't. I just can't. (Except for "Spanky". I love that.)
Even the cover is, to quote a colloquialism, "da bomb." Nothing, I repeat, NOTHING, has ever made me shudder moreso than when I read and reread this comic.
That's why I have no choice but to give this comic:

(out of four.)
Too many video game fighting moves to be listed here.
(Note where Brit's first "Spanky"-kick lands, though...)
