B orn in the time of Mohammed in the holy city of Makkah, Hamza became one of the very first followers of the Muslim religion. At the age of 40, Hamza was mortally wounded while fighting in a holy battle for Allah and in that instance became an Immortal. He soon travelled to the city of Damascus where he learned his art of swordmaking. Hamza then travelled on to the Iberian peninsula to hone and practice these skills. For 200 years, Hamza called the peninsula home, settling there and becoming part of the Muslim Spain. However, the Muslims were drawn out of Spain, and Hamza was left to find a new homeland. He finally settled in Rabat, and then in Algiers, where he decided to teach his fine swordsmanship and to write poetry. While in Algiers, Hamza purchased the Immortal, Duncan MacLeod, to spare his life and teach him the ways of the Muslim culture. But litle did Hamza know that he was being hunted by Xavier St. Cloud. The two battled, with no interference from MacLeod, with Xavier the victor. Soon after the battle, Hamza, along with his sword, became Turkish legend for centuries and can still be heard about today.
