...but a high price is paid to retrieve the vessel - the attack team lose two of their best men as dropped equipment, heaped at the bottom of the "lift shaft" explodes in the "heat" of battle.

Greatest Victory : One could say that, from a research point of view, the battleship recovery was a victory, but the loss of Gennadi Mikhailov and Yasuaki Yamanaka - fine warriors both - soured the triumph.
