What song on TLC's new LP Fan Mail, means the most to you?
"Unpretty." I've felt that way before. I've been hospitalized a lot for sickle-cell anemia, and I always felt so ugly in the hospital. And when I got out, everybody else thought I looked great, but I felt so ugly on the inside. That's just a mental thing that I've had to get over.
Which of your new songs do you like listening to in the morning?
"If They Knew." That'll wake you up. You start jamming in the bathroom, like, "Aww-ww!" You have to dance while you're doing you hair, you know?
First rap tune that you ever heard?
Sugar Hill Gang. "I said a hip-hop, a hip..."
Master P or Ice-T?
I like everything Master P puts out, except for the Kenny song on the South Park albums. [Growls] "My little homey Kenny died tonight..." I was, like, "P, come on." He sounds retarded!
Foxy Brown or Lil' Kim?
Lil' Kim.
Shirley Manson or Marilyn Manson?
Ooh, Shirley.
Barbara Streisand or Celine Dion?
Celine. I like the way she sings. I won't say I'm into her songs, but she has soul.
Is there one stupid song you can't get out of your head but wish you could?
The "Theme from M*A*S*H*"! I hate that song! [Humming it] Every time I hear those helicopters, I want to puke.
What would make you bail from a party?
House music. Oh yes. I would leave. Like, "I cannot get with this." Wait, I take that back--I know music that's worse than that: heavy metal. I don't know what the hell they're screaming about. Death, suicide--like, depress me, please.
Favorite opera?
I don't like opera. They have wonderful voices, but it gets on my nerves. After a while I'd go, "Would you stop howling?"
What country song would you cover?
One of Shania Twain's songs, 'cause she's cool. Anything she'd do, I'd do.
TV show you'd do a song for?
Mmm, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Would I like to be on that show kicking some vampire ass? Hell yeah, I'd die too!
You're in the dentist's chair. What's on your Walkman?
Anything from when Prince was Prince. I'd be, "Go ahead, drill on, baby."
Your favorite make-out music?
"Moments in Love" by Art of Noise.
What song would you strip to?
[Laughing] Can I dance with my clothes on? Okay, then I have to say "2 Much Booty (in Da pants)." It makes you wanna shake your butt, like "I got booty!"
Your choice for a workout song?
"Rebel Yell" by Billy Idol. R&B is too slow. I need something to keep me pumping.
Are you an '80s nostalgia freak?
Not really, but the other day we were just reminiscing, singing all of Cyndi Lauper's songs. We were singing "Karma chameleon," too. Boy George is cool to this day. He could come out dressed the same way and I'd still like him.
Celebrity Death Match: Boy George vs. Billy Idol. Who wins?
[Sighing] Billy Idol. He could Punch George with his lips and it would be over.
