Jason is in the accounting office at General
Hospital, signing some papers, and Stefan walks
in.
Stefan: "What do you think you're doing???"
Jason: "I thought I was taking care of your nephew's
bill til the end of the year, but they can't write up
the room charge while he's still in it. So this is
for the surgeon's and the doctor's fees for now."
Stefan: "You can find another way to assuage your
concience. I don't want your blood money."
Jason: "This is a hospital. Blood and money are your
business."
Stefan: (angrily replies) "And because of your
business my nephew nearly lost his life."
Jason: "Which is why I'm here."
Stefan: "Go. I want nothing from a man who makes his
way by the way of violence. Praying on the vices of
the weak."
Jason: "Oh.....you mean unless it's 30 million like Sonny donated. Right?"
Stefan: "I see. And you think of yourself as a grand humanitarian as well? I suppose you write checks to undertakers for your less fortunate victims."
Jason: (shakes his head and laughs) "Look, I don't mind keeping the money. It's no problem."(Jason goes to leave, but Stefan stands in his way)
Stefan: "You have no idea what you did to Nikolas do you? With your impromptu knife wielding."
Jason: "I kept him breathing."
Stefan: "Possibly at the cost of his speech."
Jason: "What?! Did you want me to let him die?! Anyways, he had a stroke. I didn't give him a stroke."
Stefan: "Who told you that?! I authorized no release of information to you!"
Jason: "Well, I know a lot of things that you didn't authorize. Okay? I know what irreversible brain damage is, and I know your nephew doesn't have it. Now I know that you think you sit on this invisible throne and everybody does what you want. But all you are to me is.....loud, and in my way."
Stefan: (he moves right up into Jason's face) "How far does your reach extend little man?" (pauses) "You multiply it by several time zones and twice as many nations and then ask me why I ever permit you to continue your existence. Because I'm told there's a slim possibility that you saved my nephew's life. True or not true that's not a debt I'll carry for long."
Jason: "You're not so loud now." (pauses) "But you're standing way too close."
Stefan steps aside. Jason leaves.
