Epcot's World Showcase is a dream come true. Across the lagoon from Future World, it beckons you to explore and discover a world of beautiful architecture and costumes, intriguing art, music and dance, and a world that is warm with the glow of international friendship.
The first stop on the virtual tour is in Mexico. Land of Mayan pyramids and exotic cultures, past and present, Mexico offers a variety of shopping and dining experiences. As you travel into the pyramid shaped, air conditioned pavilion you see what looks to be a Mexican flea market, as well as a restaurant. El Rio del Tiempo offers a slow moving ride through through one of Mexico's nicest rivers on the River of Time.
In Norway, you can ride on the seas in a violent storm on the Maelstrom, or marvel at the replica Stave Church. Or, eat traditional medieval Nordic foods in the Restaurant Akershus. Grab a bite at the Kringla Bakeri og Kafe to sample Norwegian pastries and Ringnes. But possibly the best stop in Norway is The Puffin's Roost, where you can find handcrafted trolls from ancient folklore, and toys for children of all ages.
The Orient. Epcot's first gateway to this exotic culture is here, in China. Learn about this exotic land in the Wonders of China, a film presentation in dramatic Circle-Vision 360. This attraction shows the China that few western eyes have ever seen. | ![]() |

From the Forbidden City to the Great Wall, the Yangtze River to Inner Mongolia, this show offers fascinating footage of a land and its people. China also offers two superb dining choices - The Nine Dragons Restaurant and the Lotus Blossom Cafe. The Nine Dragons has excellent oriental cuisine in a nice, sit-down restaurant. The Lotus Blossom Cafe offers quick counter service meals if you're on the go. And for fine shopping, China has wonderful Chinese goods at Yong Feng Shangdian. |
Hearty food and spirited shopping lie at the heart of Germany. From the food to the music to the wonderful beer, the Biergarten's atmosphere is pure Oktoberfest. Germany has possibly the best shopping in the World Showcase. From Hummel figurines at Glas und Porzellan, to fine crystal at Kunstarbeit in Kristall; teddy bears and dolls at Der Teddybar, to hand-painted eggs and cuckoo clocks at Volkskunst.
Italy's most alluring feature is her architecture. A detailed replica of St. Mark's Square, from the Palace of the Doge's to the Campanile, Epcot's Italy gives a sense of the splendor of Venice. Italy's largest attraction, L'Originale Alfredo di Roma Restaurante, is the premier Italian restaurant in the world. And if your into Italian entertainment, catch one of the many street shows that happen throughout the day. Check your entertainment schedule for details on showtimes. The American Adventure,the center piece of World Showcase, salutes people from around the world who built a nation founded on freedom. Narrated by Mark Twain and Benjamin Franklin, it depicts the struggle to find an American identity. A cast of 35 advanced audio-animatronics recreates historical events that have formed who we are. From the Mayflower to the lunar landing, The American Adventure uses the most elaborate Disney imagineering techniques ever combined in one production.
The main icon of Japan is a replica of the seventh century Horyuji Temple in Nara. It boasts the quiet serenity of elegant gardens and the impending stature of a fuedal fortress. Japan also offers a host of cultural dining experiences. The Teppanyaki Dining Room is a classic Japanese steakhouse with food prepared at your table by a highly trained chef. The Bijutsu-kan Gallery has many beautiful examples of Japanese Art.
Morocco offers the widest selection of native handiwork in the World Showcase. From leather to metal to clothing, the small shops offer many fine examples of the work of native artisans. The Restaurant Marrakesh offers traditional dishes of lamb, chicken, and couscous.
France is known by its great architecture, in the background you can see a smaller replica of the Eiffel Tower. Impressions de France is a wide-screen presentation of the French culture set to wonderful music. France also offers three table service restaurants, representing the love affair that the world has with French food. The Chefs de France has an award-winning menu of the finest French cuisine anywhere. France also has a wide variety of shops and stores containing French perfumes, wines, and artistic creations. | ![]() |
The United Kingdom has shops galore to entice guests into the British spirit. The Tea Caddy, by R. Twinnings and Co., has fine British teas and scones, as well as serving-ware for your very own tea time. The Crown & Crest carries beer stiens and tobacco pipes. The most enjoyable destination in the United Kingdom is the Rose Crown Dining Room. You can stop in for lunch, dinner, or afternoon tea, with reservations of course. From Fish & Chips to fine London Broil, the Rose & Crown has the best British cuisine east London.
O' Canada! has splendors from the Canadian Rockies to the Cathedrale de Notre Dame in Montreal. A French chateau dominates Epcot's Canada, much the way they dominate Quebec even today. From the Northwest Mercantile to the Indian Village and trapper encampments, Canada displays the hard toil that led to its great nation.
