Concert Tour '97/'98 - Jeff Trachta |
Young Girl
The stage is black and the music begins with a very fast disco beat that has a feeling of urgency, signaling something big is about to go down. Suddenly, a bang, a flash, smoke, and a spotlight way up high focuses on Jeff Trachta as he descends, as if from heaven, resplendent in a sparkling royal blue jacket, singing the opening bars of "Young Girl."
As he descends, the audience ascends to its feet, the screaming and applause almost as loud as the music. Amid more smoke, fireworks, and it seems with even more urgency in the beat of music, Jeff hits the stage with an energy and power that sets it on fire (metaphorically this time). The audience rushes the stage, leaping over theater seats, falling to their knees, screaming. As Jeff continues his powerful delivery of the song, he is dancing, everyone is dancing, there is more screaming when he loses his blue jacket. The energy continues to build, filling the whole theater until it climaxes in a powerful finale with more fireworks as Jeff finishes center stage with arms stretched upward and outward, and we all unite in the birth of "Young Girl" - the first single from Jeff Trachta....

Say Goodbye
New Year's Eve, 1997/8, Gooiland Hotel, Hilversum, The Netherlands. A capacity crowd waits impatiently, tension mounting, excitement building, for the Jeff Trachta performance to begin. At last.....way up on the balcony at the top of the stairs, Jeff appears, and the show begins. The high point of Jeff's performance is when he gets to share the stage with Steve Cahill (so to speak) at the debut of Jeff's new song, "Say Goodbye," written by Steve Cahill! What a way to bring in the New Year!
"Say Goodbye" has poignantly beautiful, heart-wrenchingly sad lyrics, and is musically rich with opportunities for a singer of Jeff's exceptional artistry to express with power and passion, the emotion of the lyrics. Steve, you should have been there! You should have been there to see/hear your song bring in the New Year. You should have been at the subsequent concerts, to see people moved to tears, to understand how your beautiful song, through a powerful, passionate singer, touches the souls of all who hear it.
