Silents are Golden Ring

join if you love the Silent Era!

OK, get this-silent movies, in spite of the contemporary and messed up thoughts of all the snobs and creeps out there that deny it, are very, very popular. There's more sites out there dedicated to the silent era that there are sites dedicated to nearly any other era of film, save the modern film industry. From the late 20's to the mid 60's, silents weren't worthy of being studied or preserved in the eyes of people back then. Sure, film studios transfered their silents to high quality filmstock once nirate was discarded. But even then it was usually under the pressure of a boss or someone else who wasn't about to have a film that had been considered quite good once go to waste. Luckily, enough were saved so that we can continue to enjoy and study them today. (But so many are still missing-lots of good ones included.) But over the past few years, film preservationists and fans alike are all enjoying silent films as much as others enjoy new films. For every person who is in love with Leonardo DiCaprio or Nick Carter, there is another who is in love with Rudolph Valentino or John Gilbert. For every person who thinks Drew Barrymore or Cameron Diaz as being the ultimate pinup girl, another person thinks of Clara Bow or Mae Murray in the same fashion. I'm not asking you to believe me, but it is true. If your site is related to the films, stars, directors, etc., of the silent era, then feel free to join my ring, which I mainly started because there were no such rings. (If your site wasn't about Louise Brooks or Charlie Chaplin, you were out of luck.) Below is how the ring should look on your site and here is the form to fill out so you can join.

Unlike with my other ring, the Glitz n' Glamour Ring, you do not need to save the images in the ring. They are already linked. Of course, you can if you want to, though-as my dad says, an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. I did this for people who are like me-they somehow magange to use all the space in their directories before Geocities even grants them more. (Your site doesn't have to be from Geocities, I was just giving an example.)
