Trent Malloy
Trent is a caring young man who was a student of Walker's (perhaps Walker's best student). After his father dies, Trent leaves his job as army martial arts instructor to take care of his family. He opens Thunder Karate to teach karate, and on the side he has a protection agency to help people, as well. He is very good with children, and his temper -- and protective side -- can appear when people he cares about are in trouble. But he never fails to come to someone's aid, be it a friend or someone he doesn't know. Trent feels that if he can help someone, he should...and will.

Carlos Sandoval
Carlos is an eager young cop who quickly rises to the rank of Detective. His good-natured and kind-hearted soul complements that of his best friend, Trent, very well. Carlos often works with Walker on cases. He is sometimes cocky, but he knows better than to be too cocky with Trent. He is a good and thorough police officer.

Tommy Malloy
Tommy is Trent's younger brother and protegee. Tommy, still in high school and an athlete, can be cocky, and although he had a small chip on his shoulder when Trent returned home after the death of their father, he worked his way out of it when Trent began teaching him karate and cementing their relationship. Tommy is, however, a concerned and protective friend, and he can't stand to see anyone causing trouble, for himself, his friends and family, or anyone else.

Marion "Butch" McMann
An ex-prize fighter and private investigator who owns the bar "Uppercuts" and who helps Trent and Carlos by giving them advice, renting them their investigative office, and finding an office manager for them.

Kim Sutter
Kim worked for Butch as a waitress before being hired by Trent and Carlos as their office manager. Kim is very good at working a deal out of anyone. She has a secret - or NOT so secret - desire to be a "female op(erative)" or private investigator.
