Highbinders: Tara Leniston Joins Highbinders (HollywoodGossips Exclusive)
The Irish Times reports:
Tara Leniston (18), plays an Irish nurse in Highbinders, a police thriller where Chan plays Eddie, a Hong Kong detective killed on duty in
Dublin. Ms Leniston has also been signed by the JC Group, the agency set up by Chan and his manager for people they think have potential. Acceptance by JC Group is the ambition of every budding Hong Kong starlet...She then called every film industry person in the phone book and heard of a casting for Highbinders. She auditioned, won the part, and went back to Ireland to film. On her return from filming, she received a call from the director's assistant to say her role had been enlarged and they needed her for more shooting. This was followed by an offer to sign up with the JC
Group. She says Jackie Chan loved the Irish people but wasn't too keen on Dublin rain that delayed shooting. Because of this the same Irish scenes were recreated exactly in Asian locations. A replica of Dublin Castle was built outside Bangkok.

Chan
ready to fly high in Highbinders
In Chan's latest Hollywood movie, Highbinders, which resulted in a near miss of losing his eye. Jackie Chan plays Eddie Yang, an Hong Kong cop hot on the trail of the ruthless international crimelord Snakehead. Eddie is teamed with an eccentric British agent, Watson (Lee Evans) and a beautiful lady cop, Nicole (Claire Forlani). Eddie gets killed in the line of duty, but then, through an ancient kind of magic, is revived as an enhanced version of his former self. With the stakes higher than even before, Eddie must master his new skills in order to survive a showdown with the apparently invincible Snakehead. Jackie Chan takes action to a whole new level in this stunning mix of martial arts, stunts and state-of-the-art special effects. (synopsis from EMG site)

HIGHBINDERS
= Star Wars?
This looks very familiar. Maybe EMPIRE STRIKES BACK can ring a bell. Does this mean Jackie Chan's character came back alive after being "frozen", just like Harrison Ford in Star Wars?

An
update on Jackie Chan's near miss accident
Jackie has refused to go to the hospital and said, "I really hate filling hospital forms and don't like the smell of hospitals." About his wound, Jackie said, "luckily I'm a man. Should the accident happened to an actress, she would be in big trouble, her face would be destroyed. (Our) men can add a little bit scars on face, hands or feet. (That's) more manly. Now with wound and bandage on his face, Jackie Chan can only make "back" scenes. (Monkeypeaches)

Jackie
Chan almost blinded in the left eye
Hong Kong media just reported that Jackie Chan's left eye was almost blinded in an accident on the set of HIGHBINDERS. It happened when Jackie was hanging in midair. One of the three wires holding him suddenly broke off and smashed to his left eye. Fortunately, despite being covered by blood, his eyeball was unharmed. As usual, Jackie Chan refused to see a doctor until the shooting was done. The bandaged area has to be unwrapped during future shootings, and makeup will be required for close-up shots.
