One half of The Foundation Soundsystem, Becky Kinnear (B*Strong) has quickly become a shining star among the land of the Orlando DJs. This homegrown Orlando native brings down the house with a style that is unique to her soul.
Even as a young girl Becky always felt a need to be involved in music, which led her to take lessons in dance, piano and trombone. Over the years her musical tastes grew to include many different styles including alternative, ska, funk, disco, hip-hop and jazz. And, like many others in the electronic dance community, she was awed by the unexplainable experience of her first rave. This led to a passion to deliver the same feeling to others who were willing to listen and move their feet to the beat.
After spending time learning what she could about different DJs and producers, it was listening to "Deluxe House of Funk" mixed by the legendary Dimitri from Paris that changed everything for her. She started listening to the likes of Mark Farina, Derrick Carter and Roy Davis Jr., which deepened her love for the Chicago house sound. Over the past few years, she has taken this sound that influenced her and branded her own flavor of delectable house.
With many local venues and a regular guest spot on Orlando’s underground station, Foundation Radio under her belt, B*Strong has proven herself to be a force in the Orlando house movement. She has also teamed with Schwa to form The Foundation Soundsytem and with Kysmet Productions to help spread her enthusiasm and love of music within Florida and beyond.
