The longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of
this truth -- That God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow
cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire
can rise without His aid?
--Benjamin Franklin
The whole of the civilized and uncivilized world believes in a God of some kind. If you look at history, there is definitely some thing or somebody communicating with human beings. Humans have given credit to God for everything and then some. From swearing on the bible at ceremonies to "In God We Trust" on our money, the dude is everywhere, but nowhere.
"I don't believe in god," you say? Then your god is "chance" or "science" or "chaos", or whatever you hang your world view on, but these secular gods are passing out inspiration as well. Western science is no more than another Christian splinter group.
After all, science and religion are basically saying the same thing. The Big Bang and Creationism both claim that all this matter we see around us, magically appeared out of nothing, in the blink of an eye. Those are the only options you get in the civilized world today? Hardly. Check out some of these. I don't think anything happens in this Universe without a string of events leading up to it. There are no accidents in the Cosmos. Cause and effect rule.
I say the mess this world is in is nothing more or less than the will of God. Or more accurately, the will of THE gods. It has taken a very long time to develop. And everything is going according to plan.
Look around you, deceit is a natural phenomenon that is basic to animal behavior. Plants and animals spend a lot of energy trying to fool their enemies and potential prey . They have learned to mimic each other in color, shape, behavior and even pass hormones and pheromones. Babies learn to deceive their parents at an alarmingly early age. Need I bring up the battle of the sexes to support my argument? Honesty is a hard road in our culture.
In this discussion I will usually refer to the gods in the plural. Although the World's religious practitioners are all sure of the fact there is only one god, theirs, it seems to me that every religion says that. But it doesn't seem like they are all the same fella. If there were only one god, it would seem like there would be a little more cooperation. In fact, it looks to me like all the gods are all in competition to rule the world with their followers. It's like they are all in a giant computer game where the object is to build a civilization that can rule the Planet.
We earthlings have become the pawns in this game.
We have been betrayed. The betrayal is complete and mirrored by the down right ugly behavior of our sanctioned institutions; corporate, church, state and family. The result of this unruly human behavior is that the environment has been degraded to the point of collapse. The mess is not our fault, we were just doing what we thought was right; what God wanted us to do.
We aren't dealing with the creator of the Universe here, but certainly gods capable of creating and/or modifying higher animals like us. There is no reason to think that a superior intelligence would not lie to us.
Just as we are discovering how all living things are connected in a web of relationships, we find that human social interaction, especially politics, the same is true. Just as symbiotic relationships in Nature are often very hard to identify, the connections that bind together the political world can be invisible as well. Just as in Nature, we find deception plays a major role in the operation of politics. In order to figure out who is in charge of whom, we need only to follow the money and the legal documents that dictate where the money is to go. In the past these documents were not readily available to the public. Even when the commoners could get a look at them they were written in the cryptic language of the law and were not easy to understand. So we have depended on our scholars to give us translations that could educate us as to our rights and responsibilities as citizens. These scholars have let us down. They have perpetrated a myth of massive proportions.
Yes, there is a conspiracy!. Yes, it spans centuries in it's conception and execution. Yes, global domination is part of the agenda. Yes, it involves monarchies, secret societies, international bankers, corporate moguls and other dark forces. But NO, blind faith in god is not the solution. It is the gods who have perpetrated the conspiracy in the first place.
According to the shrinks, we even deceive ourselves. Seems our conscious mind just doesn't have the time to look closely at things that might prove unsettling. It is much easier to learn a simple "statement of belief" to use whenever a sensitive subject arises.
Think about this for a minute. Who is conning who here? I guess if you look at our society very closely, you would notice that denial is rampant. It's not apathy, but fear that keeps the blinders on us. Of course, it is those other folks, those loonies with a loose grip on reality that suffer from such maladies, not me! Yeah right; me neither.
Does anyone really believe that our leaders are great and pious people? We know that they are mere mortals subjected to monumental temptations to lie, cheat and steal, yet we trust them with enormous amounts of our money as well as our very lives.
We Americans know that we burn up resources far faster than the rest of the countries of the world put together, but we won't back off. Are we really so smart?
Just what is an intelligent species?
First, an intelligent species must be aware. It must be able to remember, plan and execute. To study it's surroundings and understand how that environment functions, develop a plan and manipulate matter to produce expected results over a period of time. The ability to study history and plan a future based on what has been learned.
The higher the intelligence the greater you would expect their successes to be. You would expect complex undertakings, carefully planned and executed. And the ability to adapt to change... successfully, using available resources.
Are we the most intelligent species around¤ Most certainly not. We are just learning be intelligent. We aren't very good at making things come out like we planned. By looking around us and watching other species function, we have seen some very "intelligent" action going on. Maybe we can learn something.
We human beings are being conned! Even the faintest hint that something like this is going on would warrant serious investigation. Seems to me, there is more than enough for that. So, drop your preconceived notions about the gods and come with me on this quest. We are going to get to the bottom of this.
More coming periodically.
