Ness He is the main character in Earthbound. He's 13 years of age, and lives with his sister Tracey, and his mom. His ability to use psychic powers distinguishes him from other kids in the neighborhood. Ness can be found sporting his cute yellow backpack and his trusty red baseball cap. This character can also be found in Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee. Paula She is the only girl in the young quartette that is destined to fight against Giygas. She has great offensive PSI powers, as well as a gentle disposition. Although she may find herself in trouble at various times, she can utilize her telepathic abilities to get her out of any jam.? Her unyielding faith and hope keeps the group together. Her parents own the Polestar Preschool. Jeff The definite brain of the group, Jeff is the third member to join your team. Even though he can’t utilize psychic powers, he is able to fix various broken items into useful ones, like the Defense Shower. He has a high IQ, which isn't surprising, since he is the son of Dr. Adonuts. Jeff currently attends school at the Snow Wood Boarding House, with his best friend Tony. Poo This young prince comes from the land of Dalaam. He is quite serious and is not distracted by the many girls in his hometown who find him attractive. Poo has a great balance in psychic ability, for he can use both powerful healing and offensive spells. ? He has the ability to mirror, or copy, enemies. Poo relies on his fists for physical strength, and he just can't get used to western foods. Giygas The mysterious enemy of the entire game. This entity from the future cause much destruction and chaos in the time to come. Ness and his pals are foretold by the Apple of Enlightenment to defeat Giygas before he can set his evil plans into action. Giygas has turned a great deal of the animals and some of the people into wild, violent creatures. Ness's Mom She is a caring woman, and a mother of two. When Ness has not contacted her in awhile, he begins to get homesick and starts craving his favorite food that she makes for him. A simple phone call to home relives Ness of his homesickness. Ness's mom likes watching soaps, and always has her door open to Ness and his friends. King This is Ness's dog. He can be quite lazy, often found lying on the living room floor. In the beginning of the game, his attacks prove to be quite invaluable. He is a laid-back pooch, and has few worries, except for the fleas that may be sucking him dry. Tracy This is the younger sister of Ness. She works for Escargo Express, where she answers the phones. She cares for her brother and tries to be of help whenever she can. She likes to keep her room pretty and pink. (Correction credited to Michael) Ness's Dad Ness's dad is quite the enigma. He is never seen, yet he plays a vital role in the life of Ness. He is always gone, on what I assumed was a business trip. Whenever Ness beats an enemy, he will put money into Ness's account. He has high hopes for Ness, but he tries to make sure Ness doesn't strain himself. The identity of this character has been disputed among many EB fans, but it seems doubtful that his true identity will ever be known. Pokey Minch The worst kid in your neighborhood, he begs Ness for help in the beginning of the game. Pokey is cowardly and easily swayed by others. He has a younger brother named Picky. His parents are demanding, and snobbish. This characteristics rub off on this youth. Although rude, Pokey does add a comical tone to the game. His sarcastic remarks are often quite funny. Lier X. Agerate This Onette resident can be found on the way to the meteorite landing. He is quite intrigued by the Mani Mani statue, and he asks Ness to by when he's alone to view it. This seedy character’s comments often end with eerie music that keeps the player always wondering. Apple Kid This Twoson inventor is defiantly worth more than the $200 Ness pays him. He may seem like a slob, but he always has the best intentions at heart. His best friend seems to be a mouse whom he lives with. Orange Kid The second Twoson inventor is way too caught up theories of changing boiled eggs into raw eggs to ever help Ness. Like Poo, the ladies adore Orange Kid. Army Man He can be found throughout various locations in the game. He is cool and collected. He can supply Jeff with all the Bottle Rockets that he can handle. This guy is always on the lookout for bad guys. He definitely doesn't care for people who’ll waste his time. A true trooper, his goods are quite helpful to the game. Brick Road This man is known for his dungeon making ability. He takes pride in his work. He loves puzzles and mazes, He is quite nice, and longs for more social companionship. He helps Ness out in whatever way he can. Brick Road likes to wear overalls, and his thinning hair sticks out in odd ways. This man is a little odd, yet loveable. The Saturns Found in Saturn Village are odd creatures who call themselves Mr. Saturn. They're offbeat music and speech add an interesting element to the game. These peaceful little guys find themselves at the mercy of some of Giygas's cronies. They spout words like boing, and offer some very helpful food items in their store, like the peanut cheese bar and the horn of life. They offer Ness free medical service, as well as free overnight stay. This special town cannot be found on any map. Saturn Valley is great place to go and visit their hot springs, and have nice cup of coffee. |
