ALYSON HANNIGAN's breakthrough role came at age 13 when she was cast as Dan Aykroyd's misunderstood daughter in the feature film "My Stepmother Is an Alien" co-starring Kim Basinger.

Born March 24, 1974 in Washington, D.C., Allison Lee Hannigan became a TV commercial veteran following her family's move to Atlanta. From the age of four, Hannigan appeared in a steady stream of commercials, including ones for Oreo and McDonald's.

At the age of eleven, Hannigan moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television. She made her big screen debut in the 1988 film "My Stepmother Is An Alien." The following year she won a regular spot on the short-lived sitcom "Free Spirit," and acted in a variety of television miniseries and sitcoms (including "Roseanne" and "Picket Fences") until 1997, when she won the part of Willow Rosenberg on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." The show proved to be an unexpected success among critics and viewers alike, and Hannigan endeared herself to legions of fans worldwide.

In 1998, Hannigan made her first feature film after several years of working steadily on television. She starred with Tom Everett Scott in the comedy "Dead Man On Campus," but it wasn't until the following year, with her small but memorable role in "American Pie," that Hannigan garnered rave notices and became a familiar face to moviegoing audiences everywhere. In 2000, she was reunited with "American Pie" co-star Jason Biggs in Miramax Films' romantic comedy "Boys and Girls," which also featured Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Claire Forlani. Hannigan worked in the independent film "Beyond City Limits," which was never released, and was recently seen in an expanded role in the successful sequel "American Pie 2," which reunited her with the entire original cast.

Hannigan's other television credits include starring roles in two HBO productions, "Switched at Birth" and "Bob Saget, In Dream State."

She currently resides in Los Angeles.
