Noted as much for his looks as for his acting, FREDDIE PRINZE, JR. has proven to have a natural appeal that has endeared him to legions of fans.

The actor first broke into film in 1995 with "To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday" starring Michelle Pfeiffer. The relatively small part helped Prinze to secure his next and more sizeable role in Miramax Films' "The House of Yes," a wicked black comedy that starred Parker Posey as Prinze's unstable sister. The film's release was mainly limited to art houses, unlike Prinze's next film, "I Know What You Did Last Summer." The film was a huge commercial success that propelled Prinze into the limelight.

Following this triumph, Prinze appeared in such films as "Sparkler" before the 1998 sequel "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer." Soon after, Prinze played leading man in a trio of romantic comedies for Miramax: "She's All That" opposite Rachael Leigh Cook, "Down to You" with Julia Stiles and "Boys and Girls" opposite Claire Forlani.

He was seen in a more serious role in the farcical "Head Over Heels," in which he portrayed Monica Potter's neighbor who could be a serial killer and played a lovesick minor-league baseball player in "Summer Catch." He most recently starred in the live adaptation of the popular cartoon series "Scooby Doo" opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar, which was a huge success, taking in more than $50 million on its opening weekend and debuting at number one.

Prinze began his acting career on television by appearing in "Family Matters" and "The Watcher." Soon after, he landed the title role in the ABC after-school television special "Too Soon For Jeff."

Throughout his school years, Prinze performed with the Albuquerque Children's Theatre and the Duo Drama Company. In his first local film work, he played the lead in a computer interactive video for the Museum of Natural History.

After finishing high school, Prinze left his hometown of Albuquerque and moved to Los Angeles to focus on his acting career.

Prinze swims to keep fit, and indulges in tap dancing, a childhood passion he rediscovered a few years ago.
