Gold Mind records 1977 - 1980

Gold Mind records was the label of guitarist Norman 'The Harris Machine' Harris who passed away in 1987.

Many of the early Gold Mind tracks, of which 'Hit 'n Run' is arguably the greatest (see picture to your right), were mixed by studio genius Walter Gibbons. Althought these tracks date from the late seventies, a couple of years later, Shep Pettibone would revive the Gold Mind tracks like 'Let No Man Put Asunder', 'Dr. Love', 'Love Sensation' for the early eighties dancefloor. These were released Salsoul and Larry Levan chose 'Double Cross', 'The Greatest Performance Of My Life' for his 'Larry Levan's Greatest Mixes Volume Two' (there never was an Volume One ;-(). ..'Love Thang' was Tee Scott's first ever mix

Hilites of the Gold Mind catalogue include Loleatta Holloway's 'Dreaming', 'The Greatest Performance Of My Life', 'Hit And Run', 'Love Sensation'; First Choice's 'Dr. Love', 'Double Cross' and Love Committee's 'Just As Long As I Got You'.
