- Antibiotics for treating ear infections which cause fluid or swelling in
the ear.
- Surgery
- Pressure equalizing tympanotomy tubes are sometimes surgically inserted
to keep fluid from building in the middle ear. This is done when medication is not
successful in clearing up the hearing loss. This is more commonly referred to as having
"tubes in the ears".
