Surfing, especially on long boards and body boards, snow skiing; mountain / rock climbing; & hang gliding are sports that require the individual to transend the ego, to stop thinking, and they can offer opportunity to be one with nature.

When all is going well, experiences such as dropping down the face of a large wave; soaring off a cliff like a turkey vulture; clinging precariously to a rock ledge; or gliding through early morning fresh deep powder snow, can unite the doer with the action and temporarily stop time (the eternal now ) When this union occurs the mind enters a state of natural meditative awareness which is usually followed by a small dose of bliss (samadhi)

Getting away into nature, feeling the grass with bare feet, smelling the wild fragrences, experiencing the quiet, enlivens and sooths the soul. Many sports are great stress reducers such camping, tramping, fishing, and golf. (Warning: golf may have the opposite effect)

Skiing can be enlightening if you are not into the whole associated fashion scene . Better you try it than read about it

Snow boarding has enlightening potential but is still currently in the same league as short boards and skateboards as they all suffer from too much aggression and ego.

Golf: here's a bit about the etiquette.

Fishing has so many styles, variations, techniques, and schools of thought that although it is included here as a stress reducer if you want specifics just type it into Yahoo and go find it.
