Skateboard Wizard

This is our resident Skateboard Wizard!
These pictures certainly do not do justice to his real skill.

Here he is at a local outdoor skatepark. This was one of his first successful attempts at a "boardslide". He must approach the bar almost straight on and then jump up to the bar, turning the skateboard sideways at the same time. Then he slides across the bar, lands the skateboard on the ground at the other end, and continues skating without falling off!!!

These boardslides were done at an indoor skatepark,
not too far from home.

Here is a "nosegrind" on a homemade box (The Incrediramp - a misnomer since it is a box, not a ramp) on the sidewalk behind our house. A nosegrind is when the front truck (axel) is on the rail or ledge.

This is called a "manual".
It's kind of like a wheelie on a skateboard. He slid across the entire box that way!

Here he is at a small indoor park near our home. I'm told this is a "rock2fakie". It's on a very small 1/4-pipe, and he goes back and forth from one edge to the other.

Here is another "rock2fakie" done during a competition. He took 2nd Place at this one!

Another "boardslide" on The Incrediramp.

This is called a "smith grind". It's slightly different from a boardslide in that he slides across the box at an angle with the back truck on the ledge of the box.
