I started my journey in the late 1970's exploring Transcendental Meditation. My journey took another course for awhile as I left the nest, found my terrific partner, married, and established our loving home.
In 1990 while at a social gathering, a spiritual healer sensed that my wife needed some healing and asked permission to work with her. She put her hands on my wife, while she was on the floor, and and encouraged others to lay on their hand as well. My wife's reaction was totally different than I had expected. She was squirming around and at the end of the session, her hands had a temporary paralysis like condition that took several minutes to alleviate. I knew something had happened since this was totally uncharacteristic behavior for my wife. At the time, we had one miscarriage and were on the way to our second.
With this experience fresh in our minds, we started going to regular healing circles and holistic fairs. We also enrolled in a three year program geared towards holistic health, healing, personal growth, spirituality, and more. About a year into the program, our beautiful daughter entered this world. We believe the intense healing we went through was responsible for the successful pregnancy and birth of our daughter. Modern medicine had no answers for us after the 2 previous miscarriages. We completed the 3 year program and continued our quest for personal healing & growth.
In 1994, with my wife's assistance, I started Mystic Gateway - Holistic Center to assist others in their healing process and to express gratitude for the gifts I received in life. Over the years, I've continued to learn, both formally and informally, from other holistic practitioners and/or spiritual teachers, and from my own reading and experiences. In the past couple of years, my wife and I have become very interested in relationships and have taken several workshops on this subject. We have been blessed with the opportunity to attend several full weekend workshops given my Joyce & Barry Vissell, founders of the Shared Heart Foundation. They are the authors of several books including, "The Shared Heart", and travel internationally to spread the word about improving relationships and living from the heart.
I presently care for my daughter, run the day to day activities of Mystic Gateway - Holistic Center, teach Reflexology workshops and have a private practice in Reflexology, Reiki II, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and Hypnosis. I am also an ordained minister and perform weddings. In addition, I've created and manage several web sites and do some computer consulting for individuals and very small businesses.
